Like another previous reviewer, I bought this as part of my 50-amp garage installation to support my new EV. I live in a 100+ year old midtown home with detached garage. Rather than dig a 3-ft trench across my entire large backyard, including tearing up my patio, I opted instead to purchase a 100-ft RV extension cord to run to my garage. To avoid cutting a hole into the cinderblock walls, I bore a hole into the soffit behind the gutters on the underside of the overhanging roof. Initially, I used steel wool to prevent rodents entering while I shopped around for the right part to plug the hole. Searching the web for cable organization solutions and other plugs, grommets, hatches, what have you, I eventually came across this cable hatch. It claims a 3.5" diameter, which was the size I needed for the female plug I had to fit through it. However, due to its construction and the vermin door, this measurement is not quite accurate. Every 50-amp cord I looked at had an L-shaped plug end, so beware, THIS HATCH DOES NOT SUPPORT A STANDARD 50-AMP CORD. I had to modify the part to make it work. Using my brand new and therefore still very sharp garden sheers, I cut into the long end of the hatch along one side, allowing me to bend the hatch vermin door open wide enough to squeeze the extension cord through. Amazingly, the part is quite sturdy so that it withstood the abuse. Once the hatch was plugged into the hole in the soffit, the cut I created had no impact on the overall effectiveness of the solution. I left the steel wool above the cable hatch just in case, screwed the hatch to the soffit, and closed the hatch, which fit snug as a glove. The one-star deduction is a result of the misleading dimensions and fit claims, and the extra work I had to go to to modify the hatch for my needs. I still have no idea what the actual intent is for this part in an RV application, but if you are looking to modify your garage to take in an EV extension cord, you can make this work. If you can find a bigger hatch, that might be advisable.

This is the third port I have installed on my trailer. This last one is used to get the StarLink cable in/out of my trailer. Worked perfect for what i needed.

The item fit exact to old screw holes. The plastic is of high quality and fit in the old hole perfect. covers the old area lines great. The plastic find in back to let the plug end through could be a bit larger. Pushing the end plug through was tight. But, may be designed that way as to not let the plug end fall back through the opening and into the cord bin behind it. My thoughts are strongly recommend the purchase.

Plastic is of lessor quality than original. I broke several fingers off on the first use. Push vcable in carefully.

Super happy with this. I've been updating my camper as a DIY project and changing the white exterior plastics etc. over to black for that more modern look. These fit into place, replacing the original like a glove and were easy to hook up. No issues whatsoever. Why would I pay double or triple, when I can get these?! No brainer. Highly recommended!

Would have gotten a 5 star if it came with some screws to install it.
