Seachem Tidal Filter 35

Brilliant quiet filter that worked instantly no faff, just needed to plug it in, was able to add my own filter pad as well as the 2 received no issue, nice quality and will be easy to clean, great value for the kit given!

Bigger than I expected. Works really well but I regret not getting the Tidal 55 as it's got the pipe that goes further down into the tank. It does give you a lot of space to customise your media which is really great but does need cleaning every week. The flow is really strong and the adjuster on this model doesn't control the low setting very well in my opinion.

Brilliant little filter, not the cheapest HOB filter but is almost silent and has great flow power.

Bought this to replace a similar size fluval unit which allowed most of the water to bypass the filter media. This holds more media and the tank water comes into contact with it. One disadvantage is trying to shrimp/fry proof it. Eventually used a net bag and some silicone bands to secure it. Overall very pleased.

The design and features of the filter is what first got my interest. Installing the filter to the aquarium is very simple just drop it in and adjust the level on the base of the filter to match your aquarium. No need to worry about filling this hob filter up as with the self priming feature it does everything itself, but this is where sadly it all goes wrong for me. There is an annoying rattle that comes from the filter and after trying everything possible (without risking the warranty), I just couldn't get this rattle to stop. Amazon also provided me with a replacement as I was sure it had to be a faulty unit as everyone had commented in reviews etc that this filter is almost silent, don't get me wrong you're always going to be able to hear your aquarium equipment unless you have a moderate background noise,I wasn't expecting silence but a motor hum, which really doesn't bother me as an experienced fish keeper. After trying two units I have decided this must be part of the filter design and is unfortunately unsuitable for me but I'm not giving this product a 1 star rating as it really doesn't deserve it, I'm sure this wouldn't bother some people in a different environment (noiser), overall the filter is of great quality with excellent features but for that rattle I would have been very pleased with my purchase.

This is a great filter if you have an aquarium without a totally enclosed hood. Practically silent and very easy to clean. I like the fact that the pump is actually in the aquarium so if the power goes off it will have no trouble restarting - you don't even have to prime it for the first use, it pumps water into the filter body filling it up until it flows back into the tank. It's also very versatile in terms of what filter media you can put in (there are no expensive cartridges to buy).

Lasted and worked well for 15months and now it's making a horrendous noise and not working properly, I clean and maintain my filters regularly. Phoned amazon and they said to return it to them and the lady was being very rude when I explained my fish will die with no filter and she had no care and nothing they could do apart from me sending it back. It's been 2 hours and still no return form sent or any instruction on how to get the return form. Disappointed to get this from seachem and even more disappointed by Amazon.

Great filter. Very easy to service and clean. I purchased it for a 20 gallon. I haven't had any issues whatsoever and no noise compared to other people that did report that they had issues with noise. Mine is very very silent. All I can hear is some water movement when the water level is a bit lower but no rattling or anything of that sort.
