Acerbis X-Ultimate Handguards (Black/White)

I got these mainly to block the cold wind while commuting on my Zero FX. I wanted the type that wrapped around to the bar ends, but decided to try these first. Easy to install and go their job. Don't think they would handle a fall at all though, but I understood that when I ordered them. So, I painted the white inserts black to match the main covers.

Acrebis is a great brand, and I use them on other bikes. However, the parking brake and large brake fluid reservoir on the 2005 Yamaha YFZ450 won't allow these to mount properly. I cant say anything about newer models but I hope this helps someone out.

The way these were jammed into the box caused terrible warping, enough that it was a functionality issue. There was a huge difference when mounted, with one digging hard into the left hand lever and the guard twisted upward, while the other cleared the right hand lever by over an inch and had a downward twist in the guard. With the brackets aligned, it looked absolutely ridiculous and left no space for a finger on the left lever. Bracing them straight, heating them with an heat gun, and then cooling them down in the shape they were supposed to be, took 3-4 times longer than the install. They’ll work now, and now look like they should have, but I’m not impressed with the product I received. If I need another set, I’ll try a different brand. If I had to get these again, I’d buy them at a local shop, where I can see if they were packaged poorly.

Fit perfectly on our TTR230s . Sorry easy to install. All parts in the box. Very sturdy, they stay in place even after hitting branches and taking rocks. Keeps your hands warm. A little tight for finger movement off the grips.
