Graphite sticks for drawing
This is great for doing any kind of drawing but my favorite use is for rubbings. I put drawing paper against an interesting surface and make a rubbing. Tree trunks are especially fun. Turn the rubbing 45degrees and you’ve got the beginnings of a landscape to color in!

The range in hardness was perfect for my needs from 2H to 8B. Very satisfied.

Hardness of the graphite is as expected, though they are a bit hard to blend, requiring a lot more effort than regular graphite pencils.

These work great for all my graphite and charcoal paintings! If you’re on the fence about diving into using graphite and charcoal don’t be. It’s an excellent stretch of your brain!

Harder than graphite should be
I had a hard time getting these graphite blocks to lay down color evenly. I was also using a cheap set of graphite pencils in this drawing and they were easier to work with compared to these blocks. They’re ok, not great, they didn’t blend easily. I used a cotton pad, tissue and a sponge applicator, it didn’t matter. I wouldn’t buy them again.

Decent economy-grade product.
This graphite seems harder than it should be for the grade stamped on the side of each stick. For example, if I use the 4B graphite stick in conjunction with my 4B Staedler pencil, the pencil yields much smoother coverage and a darker color. This is definitely an economy-grade product, which is fine for my immediate needs. If you're accustomed to using better-quality graphite, this product may not meet your expectations. On the upside, none of the sticks were broken when I received them.
