The Midnight Blue NOT Matte...
but they are gorgeous! I splurged on a pair of the Limited Edition Crossfades in Phantom Chrome. I practically live with them on my head. Thing is, the chrome shields become fingerprint central, as chrome tends too. Drives me bonkers. So, I bought these in the midnight blue thinking that they'd be matte because that's what the picture looks like, to me at least. However, they aren't. They are a shiny blue CHROME. At first I just set them aside, thinking if I ever scratched up the silver chrome shields, I'd swap them out. Then...I decided to put them on, just to see how it looks. GORGEOUS!! Love it! So now I keep the silver phantom chrome shields in the little bag these came in, and will swap them out should I be stupid enough to scratch up these blue beauties. So if you're looking for the matte ones, be sure to scroll the color choices all the way down to the right ones. If you want deep, dark but shiny, rich blue shields, you'll love these as I do.

Easy and Cool
I ordered a few pair of these to add to my V-Moda M-100 and my V-Moda XS Headphones. The ones I ordered from V-Moda I had my name and Football Jersey number added. Quality is top notch just like all V-Moda Products. Easy to change, but be sure to remove and add the tiny screws over a towel so not to loose any.

Shields are OK but the V-shaped "wings" do not fit the M-100
Pros: - The red ones are a great match for the red trim on the Shadow model of the M-100 (mostly black with small red accepts on the wings and red stitching) - The shields are a perfect fit - The material they are made of is sturdy - not like thin tinfoil Cons: - The V-shaped "wings" do not fit the M-100 at all - they seem to be intended for different models (see other people's pics on Amazon where they attempted to install them on the M-100) - On the M-100, the "wings" are not interchangeable, so you are extremely limited as to what colors you can use. e.g., on the Shadow model of M-100 only the red or blacks ones will be a good color. Chrome might marginally work if you are going for a black, red, and chrome look. That's it. - The kit does not include screws for the shields (screws are for the "wings" which are not useable on the M-100) - The hex driver that is included for the shield screws is cheap and stripped after one round of replacing the shields. If I switched shields back to the originals I would need a new hex driver (I restore cars as a hobby and know how to use the driver...) - It didn't trip the screw sockets thankfully but likely did wear those a bit - A couple of screws were stripped in the plastic housing into which the shields were screwed, from the factory. A couple other ones were over-torqued to the point where they were difficult to remove with the cheap driver. That is not an issue with this kit per se but something to be aware of in how the shields will install - The red color shields are very shiny - the pics appear to show them as matte and it was not mentioned. Was hoping for a matte finish but not a show stopper - Since you re-use the shield screws they may not match the shield color you choose. On mine, mostly black and with the new red shields, the old black screws work well. But if your headphones are white and you install orange shields, the olds screw color may look not quite right. It would be better if V-Moda included new screws in both black and silver - would probably add $0.20 to the cost.

I’d buy them if I were me. Oh wait, I did. Yay, Past Me!
I love them. The color is more of a beautiful teal, which is what I was hoping for. They installed really easily and look great. Seem really sturdy.

Difficulty with screws
(Sun Orange Color) The pieces arrived on time and are the color shown in the picture. I didn't have any of the problems with scratched pieces as other people have, but I did have the odd problem that 3 of the screws on my headset were slightly bigger than the rest. Not really a problem with the shields, but i didn't realize the problem until I was nearly done changing my stock ones for my orange covers. After about 30 min of messing with it, I went through 4 of the same size wrenches until one was slightly bigger (but still marked the same size) that worked. If you don't have weird screws like me, these should only take about 10 minutes to install, but if you do, it's going to be a pain.

Ruined the best Headphones I have ever owned
My absolutely amazing V-MODA earphones that I have treasured as one of my favorite possessions now looks like complete garbage. Apparently the screws that hold down the shields are the cheapest little screws out there. They stripped despite extremely careful work. Here is my story that hopefully convinces you not to buy these: So first I took off the first octagon part on the right side. It was fine and I replaced with my beautiful red shield. Since is so stupidly hard to screw in the screws without stripping, toward the end I had to push as hard as I could to get it to tighten all the way. This led to the little hex tool that they give you to use slipping off the screw and scratching the bottom of the shield. Fine, whatever. At this point I am kind of sad because they looked so amazing, and though they still looked good it is sad to get a scratch. So now I move onto the little wing (still on the right side here); two screws come off fine, and now the third one strips almost instantly. Great! I spend 15 min trying to unscrew it and make no progress. So I break out my pliers and cringe as I know that it will get scratched up. Sure enough, the most ugly circular scratch forms. At this point I am pretty pissed. Finally I get it out and and I have to use one of the JUST TWO matching black replacement screws that they send with your shield. After screwing it on I am already thinking "great, I have room for only one more messed up screw. On to the other side (left side now). This time I start with the wing. Low and behold all the screws come out easy, and I am able to replace the little wing. Big sigh of relief as I just have one more to go. I move onto the last shield, and right off the bat the first screw I try won't come out. I am so tense and inserting it exactly in its spot so as to not risk stripping at all. Nope, still stripped. I take a deep breath and think "ok, if I do all the rest maybe I can come back to this one last and it will come out easier". So I move onto a different screw, and I start loosening. It strips just as fast and easily at the last one. In desperation I decide to use my pliers since this is the old shield, and I can get it all scratched up anyways. So I grip the screw and turn AND IT WON'T LOOSEN. No matter how hard I try, either I am not gripping hard enough and my pliers spin around the screw, or I grip it hard enough and since the screw stripped while it was still too low the pliers just snap right off. So here I am now, with a pair of headphones that sound like heaven and look like absolute garbage. I have three parts red, two of which are scratched, and on the other side I have one beautiful little read wing and a completely disgusting looking thrashed up gunmetal shield. I am so upset. I have never had earphones that I like as much as V-MODA, their quality is top notch, and in my opinion their design is as good as it gets. Why on earth they would use such cheap screws is beyond me, when it is probably the cheapest part of manufacturing the screws. I really care about how these look (and obviously you do too since you are looking at this product and reading reviews. DO NOT BUY IT. Ironically the worship leader at my church where I drum (and use these earphones) mentioned that he actually knows the owner of the company. I almost want to have him relay the message that the screws completely ruined my earphones. This will probably end my relationship with V-MODA headphones, just out of pure anger. I hope I find something of equal quality eventually (and it will probably be twice as expensive and twice as ugly as V-MODAS due to useless branding everywhere.

Gives new life to my lp2
They fit perfect and look better than stock, a little pricey for what it is but if you want a new look for your headphones this is it!

Perfect M100 Accessory
The Matte Black shields are an excellent accessory for my Crossfade M100 wireless heaphone. I like the sleek appearance of the matte finish and is not gaudy or glossy like some of the other shields.
