Perfect height for a thick mattress
Good quality at this price point. Drawers operate smoothly. Nice and sturdy. Only negative is that assembly instructions could have been a bit better. Also, this has nothing to do with the product itself, but shipping was by Canada Post - ridiculous for a product of this weight. I had to pick it up at my local post office! Hardly what I expect as a Prime member.

A for value, C for quality.
For the price, it's not bad. I purchased the tall version because its dimensions are perfectly suited to the high storage-type bed we have. It looks decent as long as you don't look too closely. It seems reasonably sturdy considering the lightweight building materials. By "reasonably sturdy" I mean that it doesn't wobble when you push gently on it, but I wouldn't dare sit on it. The assembly instructions are adequate but not intuitive; they are almost entirely pictorial and in some cases the images are a bit difficult to interpret. The biggest problem I faced is the zinc "cam" fasteners which, being made from zinc, are extremely brittle and prone to breaking, yet no spares are provided. All in all, you get what you pay for, no more and no less. This is a budget nightstand that will get the job done, at least for a few years, but is ultimately a disposable commodity.

Nice looking piece, simple to put together
I was very skeptical about buying this item because of all the negative reviews on here. I looked at tons of other nightstands and couldn't really find anything that even came close to this. The big selling point for me was the two drawers and the cubby-hole. The cubby-hole is perfect for my 15" laptop and it's part of the main reason I wanted this particular nightstand.According to the reviews on here people have stated that they have gotten beaten up and missing boards to missing screws. My experience was just the opposite. I got everything I needed and all the screws I needed with a few left over. Before I began I went over every screw to make sure I had the same amount as the instruction booklet stated. Also apparently mine was manufactured quite recently as it arrived with some sawdust from the underside of the boards. This didn't really bother me, but I did take notice that it was made quite recently. I found that a bit refreshing as it hadn't been sitting on some shelf in a warehouse for long. I also didn't see any damage to the black parts of the stand. A lot of people said they end up with nicked boards. Mine seemed fine. When I finished I didn't even bother using the scratch marker they provided. As for setting it up I thought the directions were very clear and detailed. Others have stated that it's extremely hard to understand. I didn't have that difficulty. In fact I was able to get the nightstand together within an hour. The drawings they provide in the booklet are your standard drafting type of images. If you're having trouble deciphering those types of images. The best suggestion I can give you is to start with one board on the drawing, locate it in your pile, and then line up the circles on the drawing to the holes in the board. This made it very simple and a lot less frustrating when it came to piecing it together. For most screws I started them off with a screwdriver and then screwed them into place with a drill. I recommend using a drill as it does make it a bit easier and less tedious. The only thing I seemed to have a problem with is the drawers. I think I may have put them together wrong or slightly off. Although they do look correct to me. However, when I pushed them into the drawer slider the top half of the drawer fits snug against the front of the stand while the lower part of the drawer seems to be further away from the front of the nightstand. Not sure if that makes sense but it looks off if you view it from the side. You can also see some of the unpainted wood from that angle. Both drawers ended up that way and they open up on a upward slope. This is most likely my error as I was a bit tired by the time I got around to the drawers. Right now I'm not too worried about it. I can go back later and see what I did wrong, but I thought I would mention that I did seem to have a bit of an issue. When I figure out what went wrong I'll come back and update this review. For the moment I'm giving the nightstand four stars for the drawer mishap even though it's not really that big of a deal for me.

Very Nice Sturdy Nightstands
Bought 2 of these about 3 weeks apart.. the both arrived in excellent condition.. 1st one took about an hour to assemble.. 2nd almost 1/2 the amount of time. Both pieces came in perfect condition out of the box.. The only pieces that had labeling were the sides of the drawers to ensure you were putting the roller guides correctly. No other labeling was needed.. if you follow the directions it is very easy to put together. And this is a 60 year old female assembling the first night table.. once assembled they are 2 very nice heavy duty pieces. The go very nicely with the bookcase headboard. Very pleased with the purchase of these and the headboard.
