Difficult are first, but super cool !
This thing is actually pretty difficult to open at first, not goona lie. Its well crafted. However you can see a complete difference in the wood on all sides so it's pretty obvious what the objective is. However, it still isnt easy to achieve, which is pretty cool. I did put a little tea tree oil on the inside bits so it hopefully won't be Too hard on my nephew to open. You really gotta smack the heck out of your hand But its cool !! I kinda wanna paint it tbh.

about what I expected based on the photos
It's novel. Without using the directions it opened for me in less than 60 seconds. It's a great Gift for kids, especially with folding money or a gift card enclosed!

Recommend it!
I bought this as something fun to hold a gift of Christmas money. The puzzle box was smooth and good quality. Quite beautiful, especially for the price. It was stiff and a little difficult to open at first so I opened and closed it several times before I wrapped it. My grandson loved it. I would absolutely buy it again.

Giftcard Holder
Great holiday fun. Our nephew is now a teenager and only wanted money and gift cards for christmas. This fit the amazon giftcard in the holiday envelope beautifully and was so much fun to watch him open it.

Mystery mechanism is deffective
It's a pretty box, but the magnetic mechanism that must be overcome to get to the secret compartment is defective. All you have to get it to open is turn it over and the piece just slides open without challenge. No problem-solving skills necessary at all. Very disappointing.

Nicely finshed
Well constructed and neatly painted. Impossible to open unless you know the trick (which is a good thing)! I am giving it to my three-year old granddaughter for the holidays with $10 inside. She is going to love it!
