Speedokote SMR-SCUFF Automotive Scuff Paste Paint Preparation Abrasive & Cleaner, 22 oz.

I don't know why I never used something like this before, but it is a game changer when prepping plastic for paint. Prior to priming plastic, you have to remove all mold release agent and scuff surface to a dull finish for a good bond. I clean with soapy hot water, then 70% alcohol, then the water based wax and grease remover.Before using this, I noticed that the grey scuff pads didn't do much dry. I was having to use the red scuff pads while applying significant pressure. This caused the pads to lose their bite pretty quickly. It was causing me to go through multiple pads.With this stuff I can easily scuff with the grey pads. You don't even have to use any pressure. Just glide it over and the paste does all the work. Makes the job much easier and pads last much longer. It is also perfect for getting in tight areas. When I'm done, I clean with a brush using hot soapy water. After drying it out I was happy to see all of the surface was properly scuffed.Also, the red pads put inconsistent deep gouges in the plastic that caused issues when spraying. This creates a much smoother surface absent of these deep gouges. I will always use this for plastic parts now.

This is great stuff for scuffing up paint, especially on plastic parts. it's about a 600-800 grit scuff. Used with a toothbrush to get into hard to reach areas.
