This Hunter fan is a quality product
I have to say I was initially upset when I opened the box to see this fan had such small blades. I was expecting small-ish, but not this small. I was thinking to myself "this thing won't move any air". Nevertheless, I went ahead and took down the old, ugly and noisy unknown brand fan and installed this very quality product. Despite the sub-$100 price tag, this fan is very well made with a substantial motor assembly encased in metal, beefy metal parts and a very nice finish on the fan blades. The chain pulls glide easily and have nice heavy pendants on the ends.Well, I was pleasantly surprised when I turned the fan on and with absolutely no noise at medium speed, this fan provided more airflow than the fan it replaced on high speed. This is high quality product that you will be proud to have in your home. I just realized that with this replacement our home now has five Hunter fans. I guess I'm a Hunter fan!

Very Quiet Fan
Installed this fan in a 10' x 12' bedroom. The size is great and it looks good too. The fan is extremely quiet and moves the air very well. Plan on buying another one for the other bedroom.

High quality, nice looking fan
I've purchased and installed about six to eight ceiling fans over the years. The Hunters seem to be a step above many of the others in terms of the quality of the fans, the user-friendliness of the instructions and the ease of installation. This fan was no exception. I would have given it five stars except for a failure in the instructions. The hardest part for me was the one that should have been the easiest - installing the light globe at the end. Nowhere in the instructions did it mention that the pull chain for the fan gets threaded through two indiscreet holes in the inner light housing, near where the bulbs are. Not noticing this, I could not figure out what to do with this chain or how to thread it through the globe properly so that I could pull it freely, without friction. What's worse, twisting the globe retainer onto the threaded bolt made this chain continually wrap around the apparatus, necessitating that I untangle it at every turn while trying to hold the globe in place. There had to be an easier way, but I couldn't discover it. Needless to say, this simple step took me over a half hour, and I fault the instructions, which were otherwise excellent. Parts were all in separate bags and identified with geometric symbols, they were well packed, and I even liked that the pull chain pendants for the light and fan have symbols on them to identify which is which to any operator. A classy looking, quietly-running fan that was just a bit more difficult to install than it should have been.

Best Ceiling Fan for the $$
After searching all the big box stores and all over the internet, ordered this for $89 from Amazon.Pros:This fan puts out! Moves more air than my six other fans, which are all of bigger diameter.I have Harbor Breeze, Hampton Bay, and another Hunter, and this one is the quitest.Fits great in a small room. A 34" fan may look too small in a big room, but in a bedroom it looks great.Looks great, really good quality.Pull chains are long enough for more 5" tall wife to reach (only one in the house that she can)Puts out good light with the 2x candelabra bulbs (supplied)No vibration out on the box. Hunter is the only brand I bought that didn't wobble until balance. I used the supplied balancing "kit" on another fan that I had that was wobbling.Cons:Not the easiest fan to install. If I did it again, would be much quicker. Not "flush mount", it does hang off the ceiling down to 18.5", at the bottom of the light so don't expect a "tight" fit to the ceiling.May look "small" in large rooms. But, bottom line, it is cheaper and puts out more air and is quieter than anything else I have and it looks really good, so I would recommend and buy again.

Wiring harness burns out.
Bought two of this model (52090) and had them installed by a professional electrician. Both worked great for about 5 months then turned one on and both lights popped and I could smell a burnt wire smell. I contacted Hunter and they sent a new wiring harness which I installed and the fan and light work fine now however, the lights on the other fan just popped after using the fan for 11 months. Have been trying to get customer service at Hunter Fan but am put on hold for more then 20 minutes by phone and then the line has gone dead twice as if they hang up on you. Have emailed them twice and have gotten no response. I would not recommend this fan to anyone as customer service at Hunter is sorely lacking and they don't seem to care about taking care of their customers, I would look for a different manufacturer.

Just okay
I have had my fan up for 8 months and the light pull does not always work now. I often have to pull it several times. So now I just turn everything off by the switch, when I often would just turn the light off and leave the fan going. The fan was a good price but overall it's just okay. Some of the parts are discontinued so I haven't been able to use the globe, as my original globe was broken and apparently I accidentally threw away the piece that holds it on as well. Hunter shipped me a new globe right away but I can't actually put it on. I am sad that it hasn't worked out because I was in love with this item when I originally purchased it. I suppose next year I will replace it with a more expensive fan in the hopes that it works properly for longer.
