A Cute Children Story to Teach Kids to Balance Life and Technology. (My Dragon Books) Review: A great book and series! - My 6-year old and I love these "Dragon Books" with Drew and Diggory Doo. I love the easy to learn lessons in this book series. Since there are so many books and varying topics, it makes it easy to pick a book to tailor to your kid's needs. I highly recommend this series about Drew teaching his pet dragon, Diggory Doo, many valuable lessons! The illustrations are really cute, too! Review: Love Love Love this series - We have several books in this series and they never disappoint. These are amazing to use as social stories and would highly recommend this for parents and educators. We purchased this one because our boys were having issues disengaging from their technology and since these have worked as social stories in the past, we tried this one out. Our 8 year old had no interest but our 5 year old LOVED it. And it was a great talking point about how much he's missing out on in the world when he hides inside on his tablet. If you're looking for a good book to teach your child about balance with technology, this is a great book to start the conversation. The boy asked his dragon to take a week long technology break and the dragon really didn't think he could do it. But as each day went on, he realized how much he was missing and how much fun he could have without technology. Once the week was up, he realized there was a healthy balance between using technology and enjoying the world around him.

Functional rhymes; worthwhile message
What's the best part about this book? <literature-class> The dragon serves as an affable personification of one's unhelpful behaviors. Importantly, by levelling accusations of excess and addiction against the behaviors, rather than the whole human, the message is made more palatable to the reader. </literature-class> A sibling's child who can't stay off the Nintendo Switch asked to borrow this book from me. It can be a permanent borrow, as far as I'm concerned. As for the quality of this book to a parent or adult who might have to read it over and over, the rhymes, while not truly innovative, remain quite serviceable. In all, they waste no time in making this book an enjoyable read with a message whose time has truly come.

Great for introducing a cut back on screen time
We wanted to cut back my five-year-old’s screen time and this book was a great way to introduce this. This is the second book in this series we’ve got and my son doesn’t really get into the books, but still give this four stars since even reading it once or twice was a great way to introduce our one week with no iPad plan. Now he only plays for about 10 minutes once or twice a week and doesn’t complain or whine about it. :)

A great series!
Our collection of My Dragon books is slowly but surely growing. My child fell in love with the books at school. It is challenging finding relevant, engaging books that teach Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) but these are the solution.

Great for Digital Citizenship Week or Internet Safety Week
The story about the dragon spending all his time on his device and ignoring the world around him was a great book to read to my 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders during Internet Safety week. With my students using their devices in school and for homework, we talked about limiting our screen time. After the story each student used either storyboardthat.com or flipgrid to tell us what they like to do when they are not using their electronic devices. Nicely written, easy to read the entire class, every student could relate to the storyline.

They make you think about solving your problems
Hi Mr. Herman, I am in 1st grade at Chesterfield Elementary School in Chesterfield, New Jersey. My grammie ordered me the Limit Your Screen Time book. We read it together. It gave me lots of ideas of stuff to do. I really loved the illustrations of Diggers Doo. His name always makes me giggle. I liked the book so much that my grammie let me pick out more from the list at the back of the book. Yesterday I started baseball and I was really scared because I didn't know anyone. My grammie got out the Anxiety book. It made my anxiety a lot less. I have more books to read and I can't wait. Thanks for sending the how to draw Diggers Doo sheets. I am practicing. All kids need to read your books. I forgot to tell you that I look like Diggory's friend Thank you for writing these book, Sean Lynch

I bought this book for my 7 year old son, who would stay on screens 24/7 if we let him. I was hopeful when we ordered it, and couldn’t be more thrilled with how much he loved the book and how well he received the message (which he’d never hear from us!). We have ordered several other of the books in the series in the days following, all met with the same enthusiasm. My 9 year old daughter also loves them. My son’s review to other kids is “These books are really funny and good. I feel good when I read them, you should read them too”
