Decent knife, & exactly the size as mentioned, but the photo of knife is misleading.
Well never judge a book by it's cover, and never assume the size of the knife is the same as the size of the photo of it. As you can see this is a tiny knife that literally fits in the palm of my hand. The knife comes with a decent neck chain, an awesome extremely high retention sheath, and it came surgically sharp straight out of the box.It has a low profile, and I actually can't even tell when I look at a mirror that I am even wearing this knife around my neck.It is heavy enough that I know it is around my neck when I first put it on and low enough weight that I tend to forget I am even wearing it.Considering I am living in Queens, NY, the state with the most knife restrictions in the entire USA, I am ok with it only having a 2 inch blade. To give you a better understanding of measurements, my hand from tip of middle finger to the bottom of my palm is 8 inches length.I shook the knife upside down several times and not once did the knife dislodge from its' sheath. But due to the fact I am not a trusting individual, I added a chain to lock the knife in place so that there is zero chance that a seat melt or a shoulder bag could accidentally dislodge the knife from the sheath. If the knife had a locking mechanism or moveable barrier to lock it in place I would have given this knife 5 stars

Best necker for 8 bucks!
I bought this knife almost a year ago. It has been a great little companion on many fishing/camping/hiking outings as well as a daily driver! The blade is thick, much thicker than you would think. Many people have commented that the thickness makes it harder to keep an edge, but this is not really true. The thickness is the same as many larger knives, and the primary grind is hollow. This knife can and does take a fine edge. Edge retention is typical of a stainless blade. However, due to the fact that you will not be hammering this through wood (probably), the edge will hold just fine. I only sharpen it for practice when waiting for fish to bite, or relaxing by a campfire. All that sounds great, but should you buy this knife? If you find yourself using various knives in your various activities, then yes! Add another blade to your arsenal. I personally had never used a neck knife, but i find it very handy. Not just for your neck, but many other carry options as well. It is small enough to fit in your pocket like a standard pocket knife, yet wont ever collapse on your finger when used.Due to its diminutive size, rigging it to ride where you need it is fairly easy. I carry it many different ways, depending on where I am and what I am wearing. It is light enough to never be cumbersome. I have enclosed a few pictures to show a modification I made in order to facilitate my carry styles. It is simple: 2 small pieces of gutted paracord with the ends mushroomed (melted).-The 2 straps don't get in the way if you stick the whole thing in a pocket.-The end strap can be flipped out and ring knotted to a lanyard for neck carry.-Both straps can be fed thru a belt.(My belt pictured is a hair under 1.5" wide)

I love this knife
First off, I love this knife. It came in the mail today with adequate normal out of box sharpness. I clamped it into my KME sharpener to re-profile. I progressed from "The beast" 50 grit diamond through 6 stones ending with translucent hard Arkansas stone. Finished off with strops and edge is mirror polished. One thing I noticed is that for a cheap knife, the factory grinds are perfect. If they are off at all I will see my edge differ from side to side. This is something even Benchmade and Spyderco have some embarrassing problems with. I'm tired of spending a lot of money on super steels and brand names. This knife will be a test for me. Even when i use steels like ZDP or 154 I still lose that shave sharpness throughout the day. I easily bring it back with stropping. I'm wondering with my normal use if that is possible with with this mystery 440. My guess is it will be fine. I see a lot of reviews and low ratings due to the size. Get a tape measure out, idiots! I have a lot of cool blades but I'm just loving how cool this little thing is. A lot of it is that i'm able to put a highly refined edge on it. Found I enjoy knives a lot more after KME purchase. Its small but thats whats so great about it. Under $10 is awesome. I haven't written a review on anything in 4 years. For some reason I just had to with this. Mtech is butt of jokes in the knife world, Not anymore for me. I will be getting the rest of their neckers for sure.

Good knife for the money
A very nice neck knife with a sturdy blade and the exact same size as the Schf13SM by Schrade. Will do the same job and looks to be from the same factory! A little cosmetic difference between the two neck knives and different blade shape. Both perform very well at the same given tasks. I prefer the Schrade blade design over the MT 20-30. Sheaths are the same Kydex material and looks in similarity is amazing. Both knives come with a black ball chain which should be replaced with paracord immediately if you plan to use the knife in an aggressive manor. It's basically worthless. Repeated jerking the knife out to use will eventually cause the chain to separate or break at the clasp first. Paracord is the only way to go with this neck knife. Throw the chain in a drawer someplace and forget about it! There are differences in the two knives but very little that will affect the function it was designed for. In all it is a good bang for your buck and it will serve you well. Nevertheless I like it and will use it occasionally as it is a tough little knife and holds the edge fairly well. Came sharp enough to use right out of the box too!
