The inside is smooth without any ridges or crevices for food to get stuck in and therefore easy to clean. Keeps smells in. Lid comes completely off so it is easy to dump out. The lid also doesn’t latch so it’s easy to bump it up with the same hand holding your food scraps so you can put them in. Sturdy. Looks good.

I picked this up as a kitchen compost bin, but it’s turned into my go-to bucket for DIY projects, as I toss masking tape, paint scraps, old caulk, and other small waste in here, and it handles it without issue. Nice container - good size and easy to clean. After 2 years though the liner lets in water, and the interior has stained.

Perfect size for our countertop, seals well, keeps the odors in and does not attract fruit flies. Compostable fruit and vegetable bags from the grocery store fit it well, and using the bags makes clean up a snap.

Our village recently added composting to our garbage pickup to keep compostable materials out of the landfill. While they provided a large bin that we keep outside, we needed something small to keep in the kitchen to hold compostable material temporarily. This has worked out perfectly for us. It's large enough that it can hold over a days worth and easily fits on our kitchen counter. The lid easily stays open while scooping in scraps and closes with just a tap, and sturdy handle makes it easy to carry to the big bin, and it's easy to clean. While this will work well with compostable bags, we've been using it bagless. So far we haven't had any issues with odor or bugs, but we tend to empty it out and rinse it out at least every other day, so nothing really stays long enough to cause a problem. This has helped us make a smooth transition to separating our compostable material instead of using the garbage disposal or putting it in our normal trash.

We couldn't find a replacement for our cat litter waste container, and gave this a shot. Very pleased! It keeps odors in somehow, even without a seal. The stay-open lid and the handle make this easy to use, and the removable collar neatly secures bags that are a little too large or long. Another quality product from OXO.

Upscaled my old on the counter plastic container for compost. I really like how it looks, and so far I can't smell a thing. I lined it with a small garbage bag so it will be easy to keep clean. Great product
