Yes the arm will fit the Sony VCT-VPR1 Remote Control Tripod
The Sony VCT-VPR1 Remote Control Tripod is discontinued and I wanted a 2nd one because I swapped the arm onto a larger heavier tripod. Yet I love the compact Sony tripod for other uses and wanted an arm for it. This JJC tripod arm does indeed interchange exactly with the Sony as another reviewer said. The JJC tripod does come with an extra non-remote arm too. The JJC tripod can go considerably taller than the Sony, but is also a little taller to store, and the head is not nearly as smooth when tilting. So I'd say the JJC tripod is not a very good tripod if you are shooting video due to the tilt, but it is compact and can go tall, has 2 arms, a bag, has a Sony remote control, and the price is less than the Sony tripod. So it was certainly worth it and I'm glad I took the chance on it.

He loved it!
My grandson was so excited to get this tripod. He's been taking photos of High School activities, helping take wedding photos, and outdoor pics. This is just what he needed to add to his arsenal of camera equipment.

Good But Breaks Easily
I bought this back in July, it's now September and one of the tightening screws have already broken. Expected this to hold up much better given the price and brand.

Lost my mounting plate can’t find a replacement :-(
I like it. However before being able to truly check out the remote system I lost the quick release mounting plate. I cannot find a way to contact seller or find a new one. I tried on Amazon and can only find tiny ones that don’t fit.

Works for 2 months, then doesn’t.
I never feel the need to write a review, but this is needed for anyone who may read it. This item worked for 2 months and no longer functions. It was great up until the end. I messaged the seller expecting some type of warranty or exchange option, thinking they would understand if there was no physical damage to the product. NOPE, they suggested I use my one time replacement service from Amazon. I refuse to use that on an $85 item. I DO NOT recommend this product.

I got this for my sony ax700. I use it for recording hunting and it works great. The controls are smooth and functional to allow for minimum hand movement.
