I hook my iPad up to my projector pretty regularly and this works excellent no lag and the video quality is very good

Can't give this USB-C Multiport AV Adapter less than 5 stars. Had a Samsung Galaxy S8 that finally bit the dust when I dropped it for the umpteenth time (that phone was seriously durable). The display no longer worked correctly and the screen was completely unresponsive to touch. Thought I might be able to install a new screen, but found out the pin connector was broken, too. I was planning to replace the phone in the future anyway; however, was not prepared for the sudden damage and hadn't backed up anything for some time. Enter in this little lifesaver. I connected the multiport AV adapter to my phone, then connected the device to my TV via HDMI cable, and finally plugged in a USB adapter for a wireless mouse. I was able to view the phone's screen on the TV with no issues, while using the mouse to simulate tapping and swiping. Thanks to this device, I backed up everything on the old phone and used Wi-Fi to migrate all of my data to my new phone. I do want to mention that using this with my (old) phone drained the battery very quickly. Also, I did try connecting to my laptop; however, the laptop never detected the Galaxy S8 was connected to it when plugged in via the device. I didn't delve into troubleshooting this too much since I didn't really need a phone-to-PC connection via this device. Overall, it is a great item that did exactly what I needed. Also, it's handy to have around and I've since used it to display videos, mobile games, and a presentation from my new phone to a TV.

My wife ran into a bit of bad luck recently and her Samsung S21's Screen would no longer light up or be touch responsive after a minor fall. We were on vacation and she had a lot of photos tied to special memories that she did not want to lose, and she was devastated at the thought that they had all been lost. Google Photos also had disabled its sync of photos to the cloud storage several months back, and she had never fully setup her dropbox account. The phone was still vibrating when pressing and holding the power button, so I was pretty sure the rest of the phone worked okay. After doing a little research I saw dongles like this as a potential way to get back into the phone, and it did the job! I was able to get her photo cloud syncing options working again and saved all the photos she thought she had lost forever. Notes regarding the use of this on a Samsung S21: - I had to use a 25W USB C charger to power the USB port for the Keyboard/Mouse combo I had plugged in. A lower powered USB C charger wasn't enough to charge both the phone and the USB for the Keyboard/Mouse. - The screen loaded to a lock screen and at first I thought I wouldn't be able to get past it. To get it unlocked I had to press enter twice, enter the unlock passcode, press enter again, and then press the escape key to close the Samsung DEX prompt. - Use right click and drag for swapping screens to the all apps screens. Hopefully that information is helpful for anyone else who might run into this!

Update: We came back to buy a second adapter. Still love the capability to charge while watching. I did get a better quality hdmi cord to use with this adapter and the picture on the tv was larger. Apparently the size of the picture on the tv can be effected by the hdmi cord. Side note, I am having some trouble with the 2nd cord malfunctioning and quits displaying on the tv during streaming. I have to fiddle with the angle of the cord/adapter and then it will pop right back on. This could either be my phones dirty port, or the new fancier hdmi cable or could be the adapters wiring. It is a pain but I am still keeping the adapter because it is otherwise very handy and saves us a ton of hotspot data. Hopefully I can get the malfunction issue resolved by cleaning my phones usb c port and switching hdmi cables etc. I may come back and update the review AGAIN if I get the issue resolved. It's dropping to 4 stars until I get the issue resolved tho. We have used this device with an iPad and an iPhone several times. It has worked well. We hooked up our devices to both our tv and our projector. It provides a nice clear image, no lag, worked with the apps we used. I think we used Prime Videos, Freevee, and Roku live tv. I was really impressed with and excited by the charging capabilities of this. I plugged my iPhone into this item to show on our tv, then used the type c charging cable my phone came with, I had approx 16% battery and by the time we were done watching tv (I'm not quite sure on the duration of time) the phone had charged significantly, approx. 68%. This charge level was achieved despite constant streaming, on my iPhone, while using cellular data. We were not hooked up to Wifi. Its small and easy to hookup with a standard hdmi cord and type c charging cable. I have not tried the usb port so I cannot attest to that. We love this converter so much more than our others because we are able to charge simultaneously while watching!

I used this to hook my laptop to my tv. My tv doesn't acknowledge it. Works fine on other tv's. Guess im buying a new tv

Utilisé directement, il ne renvoie aucun signal HDMI vers un écran lorsqu’il est branché à un iPad Pro, contrairement à ce qui est écrit dans la description. Testé avec deux écrans. En cherchant sur internet j’ai toutefois trouvé la solution: il faut forcer la négociation usb3 au préalable en branchant un équipement usb3 avant le HDMI. Et ça fonctionne.

Super product. Initially observed that sometimes laptop screen wasn't visible on the monitor when monitor is connected to laptop using this adapter and laptop is not charging. But after some time, issue solved by itself. From 2nd month onwards, no issue seen until 8 month (now)
