Look no more ! Best rowing gloves - edited
Great rowing gloves ! Have tried many types: biking gloves, sailing gloves, gym weight lifting gloves... to no avail: either the gloves didn’t cover enough and I still got blisters, or the gloves bunched up uncomfortably, which made rowing even more unpleasant than it is meant to be... these are thin and grippy... don’t slip. Have been doing extended rowing sessions, and I don’t get any blisters anymore!Edited March 2018 - removed one star - Have now gone through two pairs of these (30-40 hours of hard rowing with each... about 450-600km)... two clear drawback emerged as I used them:1- they don't cover more than 1/4 of the fingers.... I still have calluses all over2- they wear out, the grippy parts goes away, and eventually they develop holes... and since they wear out first where you rub most... I now have calluses again...I now have graduated to full-length rowing gloves... time will tell whether they work out better than these.

you gently cradle the handle as if your fingers were like a cane
The quality of this product remains to be seen, as I just got the package. There is a velcro patch that closes the glove around the back side of your hand, and my guess is that either this will last forever, or it will come off in the first wash. It looks cheap, but I'm no expert. If you intend to buy these gloves to protect your hands because you intend to do rowing on the Concept 2 - keep looking. If you look at the pictures that go along with this product, you'll see that they are 1/2 finger gloves, and the way the "hand model" is holding the Concept 2 rower is wrong. With the Concept 2, you gently cradle the handle as if your fingers were like a cane, with your tips circling underneath the paddle, gently. The pictures with this product show a grip like they're trying to break the paddle in two - it's inappropriate for a Concept 2.I thought I was buying a 3/4 glove, but apparently not. My mistake! As for a Dragon Boat or other water sports, it may be fantastic, I wouldn't know.

Work well enough, but run large in size
I use them for indoor rowing. They run large in size. My hand measured 8" so I purchased a large. I should have gotten the medium. They uncomfortably bunch a little at the base of my fingers, resulting in redness and discomfort, but I assume that is because they are a bit too large. Fortunately, no blisters. But the jury is out on whether they will prevent calluses. They fit my husband's hands better, so he is using them. Time will tell if they prevent blisters or calluses, so I will update this review in the future.

these are the best gloves I have bought him to date
My husband uses an indoor rowing machine 5-6 days a week and according to him, these are the best gloves I have bought him to date. Definitely no blistering or calluses at all. If he had to complain about anything, it is the dye comes off onto his hands because of his sweating so much. He can't wait for them to come back into stock.

Stop the blisters!
After a long break from using my Concept II rower, I added 20 minutes of rowing at level 8 to my 40 minutes of spinning. After about 10 days, I started getting blisters on both hands and remembering I used to wear gloves, started looking for my old ones. No where to be found. So I decided to buy a new pair and via Prime got them the following day on an earlier than expected delivery. Within a few days I noticed the blisters were in check and starting to recede. Quality of the gloves seems to be quite good and despite a little effort to get them off after rowing, well worth the money. Certainly would recommend for anyone with softer hands.

Great fit and so awesome for Dragon Boat Paddling.
Great fit! Omgosh love these gloves. I just started Dragon Boat racing and wanted to be prepared for my second time on the water and these gloves saved me! No blisters and great grip! Highly recommended them. Although I did not measure my hand, they provide how to befire you purchase. I guessed based on past purchases for work out gloves. I purchased size medium.

1mo Velcro came off. 3 months stitching is coming apart.
Purchased Oct 2019. Use 5x per week for 1 hour. After less than 1 month the Velcro on one glove was almost unstitched. I sloppily restitched it. Looks bad but that’s my sewing skills. It’s holding. BUT 3 months now the seam stitching is coming apart. Both gloves. I measured my hand so I have the right size per the manufacturer. I’m rethinking what “Amazon’s Choice” label on a product means. I don’t think “good product for a good price” anymore. Probably means higher profit margin for Amazon so they push it.

MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE – CHEAPER MATERIALS
I first bought a pair of these gloves when I took up Kayaking in 2017. And, that pair has been the most durable piece of kit I've bought.Sure the stitching needed a bit of repair occasionally but, seeing as I used the gloves for kayaking at least 3 times a week for over a year and a half, as well as week-long sea kayaking trips in between, I was more than happy with the quality. They are comfy, light, and durable...And trust me I've put them through a lot...yet they are still going strong. In fact, there was no real need for me to buy a new pair but I decided to anyway so I could have a spare pair just in case.So how disappointed was I when I found Hornet has apparently gone cheap on us and are now using inferior materials to increase their profits!Because the new pair I bought in February have worn out already!!That's within only 4 months of use!And as you can see by the two photographs the 2019 version has much thinner rubber than the one bought in 2017Luckily I didn't throw my old ones out because I'm confident these babies will last me another year...which is obviously why Hornet changed the materials as it does them no good financially to sell a durable product. How sick is that?!I've honestly hated writing this review because I love my old gloves and it's very rare you buy a product these days that lasts. And it's just so sad that these gloves have been redesigned so they are less durable...in order for you to have to replace them every 4 months.

Great gloves!
More than met my expectations. Purchased to use whilst kayaking. I have found them to totally prevent the usual rubbing that can cause blisters after a long day paddling. Added bonus is that they have a rubbery palm that really helps your grip even when wet. Very pleased with my purchase - would recommend to all.

Excellent
Thin enough to be really comfortable, unlike standard gym gloves, yet strong enough and fit for purpose.I use them for a rowing machine and cross trainer. I could not say what would happen if using them for general gym / weights use and would personally use something more durable for that.

Great for rowing
Awesome bit of kit. After many sessions on the rower and suffering blisters with or without my previous gloves I decided to give these their first test on a half marathon row. My hands are good to go again tomorrow, very impressed

Almost perfect gloves with a longer version missing
The flexibility, feel and grip of the material are just excellent. The gloves are very light and would have been perfect... but it's a pity that there's no longer/ full fingered version available, as the missing protection for the middle phalanx would have been very helpful.
