good stuff, cut through the rough to bring out the shine

I love this high-quality 3M polishing compound! It effortlessly eliminates light scratches and brings back the shine to any surface. Application is a breeze, and it buffs out smoothly with minimal effort. I recently tried it on my car and the outcome went beyond my expectations. For those seeking a professional finish, I highly recommend this product.

A friend of mine, whose company restores antique cars introduced me to this product. I thought I needed a new paint job, but was able to polish out all the scratches with a 7” polisher. It works so good he warned me about not over polishing and damaging the paint. Afterwards I used the 3M fine polish to protect the paint. Oh, it also works great polishing headlights.

As always 3m products are top notch in quality. Really took the gel coat from dull and dusty to bright and shiny. I tried other brands and while they worked a little, no where near the same quality as 3m. Gel coat is smooth as can be, and the 1200 grit sand scratches where the numbers were removed can’t even be seen. Be warned, using this on a vehicles paint can be done but it is very easy to burn clean through and ruin the finish, very easy.

Honestly a pretty solid cutting compound but very similar to Meguires M100 or M105. There’s not a shocking difference between this 3M product vs Meguires, they both cut about the same regardless if on paint or plastics like headlights / taillights. Paint is obviously softer and easier to cut than plastic but this compound CAN do it with enough passes and a good cutting pad. The main seller for this compared to other products would be the lifespan of the product, meaning I can use SMALLER portions of it and still get the job done. Also it’s really good at staying “wet” even when cutting if that makes sense, it doesn’t easily harden on the surface you’re compounding unlike Meguires. Price tag is pretty steep for around $45-$50, however the bottle is quite large for the actual portion size I use, so I can see this bottle lasting a few months. If you do decide to buy this product, full transparency here there’s not much that “wowed” me and is quite similar to other cutting compounds like Meguires or Sonax even. Don’t expect a life changing experience that will cut time dramatically, rather expect a longer lasting product.

Everyone know 3M makes some amazing products. This is another one. I own a professional mobile detailing company, and they are my go to for polish and compounds. Been using them for over 20 years. You can't go wrong with them, if you do, you're doing something wrong.

Faites attention pour ne pas défoncer votre peinture. Produit qui travail très bien. Résultat presque mieux qu'une peinture neuve...lol !
