These Gliders Shift & Then Collect Fur
I tried these plastic gliders because the felt ones I normally use collect dog fur horribly. (I have a yellow lab who sheds constantly.) My normal felt gliders also wear away over time, thus requiring periodic replacement. I hoped these plastic gliders would eliminate both problems. At first I was impressed with this product. The adhesion was really solid: I could not pull the gliders off the chair feet, and they did not slide at all. (I have normal hand strength for a healthy 33-year-old woman.)After about two weeks of use, I noticed the gliders had begun to shift and were no longer centered on the bottom of the feet of the chairs. It happened on all three chairs: the one my husband (160 lbs) uses; the one I (195 lbs) use; and even on the chair my skinny 30-lb son uses exclusively. (We use these chairs frequently: at least four times a day for meals, school work, and crafts.)Because the adhesion was so strong, I could not slide them back into place; and once you remove them, you cannot re-adhere them since the sticky pad rips in half horizontally, leaving the top and bottom sides still attached to the chair feet and the glider, respectively. As the gliders became misaligned, I could see the protruding upper surface of the white sticky pad. They also began to collect fur.I spent about two weeks pulling the worst offenders off, removing the sticky residue with Goo Gone, drying the foot of the chair so that no cleaning product remained, and then adhering new replacement gliders. However, I continued to have the same problem with shifting. I was running out of patience. Finally at the one-month mark from time of purchase, I gave up. I chucked the remaining unused gliders, pulled off the gliders that were in use, and went back to my old felt gliders. I won’t be buying this product again. For anyone who is curious about the durability of the bottom (light grey) side of the glider, I found it as expected. After a month of use there were surface scratches but little actual wear and no gouges. (We have laminate flooring that is mostly smooth with some very slight, shallow, smooth depressions to simulate wood grain.)

The teflon pads hold up better
I’ve tried all different types of bottoms for my kitchen chairs and have problems with all of them. The silicone ones won’t slide on the floor at all. Most pads that go on the bottom of the legsl come off after a short time. The felt pads slide nice but don’t hold up at all and slide off quickly. They also accumulate dog/cat hair. The teflon bottoms hold up good but I’ve had the same problem of them sliding off after not too long a time. This time I’m trying something different. I got the teflon for durability and instead of relying on their adhesive I also put gorilla glue on them and then put them on the chair legs. Hopefully this will work. I love the way these arrived. They are in a plastic container for keeping the ones you haven’t used. Usually everything is in a plastic bag you tear open and you wind up tossing the extras loose in a drawer somewhere.

Did not work for me
I had the felt ones on my kitchen chairs and took them off, hoping That I found a better product. WRONG ! They were listed as sure to stay on and furniture would move better. I put them on late one day and the next day the y were almost all the way off. They slid sideways when moving the chairs. I wish I had my old ones back because now I have none, I think these would ruin my floor if I could keep them on. Sorry...I am so disappointed !

Follow the directions.
I have some very heavy furniture in my home that has small satin nickel legs. The legs have rubber disks at the very bottom. The rubber disks do a great job of protecting wood or tile floors but most of the furniture sits on carpeting. As I said, the furniture pieces are very heavy and the legs sink way down into the thick carpet and carpet padding. I am not one to rearrange my furniture. Once it has a home, that’s where it stays.I had to have the carpeting re-stretched in one room and I was not home at the time. The man tried to drag the one large dresser and broke one of the legs! It was an expensive repair that he was responsible to pay. When I move the furniture to clean, I have to use a jack to lift the pieces and place large furniture slider pads under the legs, slide the piece out and then jack them up again to remove the sliders. That is a real pain.I didn’t think they made permanent sliders small enough for these legs until I saw these. I jacked up the furniture, cleaned the underside of the legs and stuck the permanent sliders to the bottom. I held them tight for 30 seconds and then lowered the jack. Do not slide the furniture right away. This is very important. I tried sliding the first piece too soon after installing them and they did not stay in place. I fixed them and let the furniture sit overnight and then moved the furniture and they stayed in place. Now I can move the furniture on the carpeting when I need to clean. I am going to have new carpeting installed soon and when the furniture needs to be moved when that happens, it will be much easier.Remember, give the glue time to adhere before sliding the furniture.

They don't stick.
I bought these to use on our oak dining room chairs. When we began using the chairs, the sliders slid off from the bottom of the chair legs. I had hoped that these sliders would make it easier to slide the chairs away from the table to get off. They do help the chairs to move easier as long as no one is setting in the chairs but with a person in the chair the change is barely perceptible. That's two strikes.....I don't recommend these for the bottom of chairs, they may be fine for coffee tables and other furniture that gets moves only occasionally.

Easy slide, easy install
These slide great and I learned the hard way to use the stick-on kind. I had some on my furniture that were white plastic or nylon. They were the nail-in kind and had deteriorated over time to the point that the plastic cracked. When we went to move a chair we discovered the nail was exposed. That would be bad news for a hard wood floor. Now they are all replaced with theses Teflon sliders.
