Right tool for the job. More economical in the long run than a series of 9V batteries.
I have seen quite a few online videos and instructions on how to test LED TV backlights using 9V batteries instead of a “costly tester”. Unfortunately, testing LED TV backlights with 9V batteries is not as economical as it may seem. At 3V per LED, testing a strip of 6 LED would require at least two 9V batteries. Testing an array of twenty LEDs would require about six batteries. Where I'm from a 9V battery is about $3.50 each (x6 batteries) = $21 plus tax. That in addition to wires plus time and effort assembling it. This LED tester is $19 delivered to my door. It comes complete with test probes and is designed for one specific purpose only – Test LEDs. Whether it’s a single LED, a strip of six or an entire array of twenty plus LEDs, this tester will test them all. I used it to test the top and bottom half backlight arrays of a 55-inch LG HDTV I was repairing. Not only I was able to identify the defective strip from the entire array in seconds, but I also zeroed in on the actual bad LED. For individuals with even the most basic electronics background, this tool is simple to use with virtually no risk of damage to the LED since the output is adaptive and automatically adjusts to the output required of however many LEDs are tested at the same time. In contrast, a series of 9V batteries always provide full power and can easily damage LEDs. Build quality is decent but I’m not sure how long this will last on heavy-duty repair shop use. This tester is best suited for DIY, hobbyist, students or technicians training. Anyone looking for an easy and effective way of troubleshooting any LED issues including TV backlights this would be your tool. It’s actually more economical in the long run than a series of 9V batteries.

Worked Perfectly out of the box. Easy to use and saved me a lot of time.
Shipped quickly and arrived without any issues. Plugged it in, It energized to 300V and then I used it to test the LED light strips in my 65" TCL TV. I had a strip that showed open, and all but 3 strips of lights had 1-3 of 7 lights out. Saved me a lot of time and guessing. It was also reassuring that I was able to test the newly installed light strips prior to reassembling the TV. I definitely recommend this product for the home hobby/do it yourself type of person.

Fixed my 65" TCL and saved myself a lot of money.
I used the TKDMR LED Lamp Bead TV Backlight Tester on a 65" TCL TV. The tester instructions were clear and easy to follow ( although I am a Certified YouTube TV tech. Lol! ) I found one LED on one strand that was bad amd replaced that strand for less than $5. Viola! I now have a perfectly working 65" TV in my radio shack that I use as a World Map. I definitely got my money's worth. Will I need it again? Maybe.

great tool for diagnosing LED tv light issues
this thing worked great for diagnosing a no screen issue on my 65" Roku tv. I was sure the LED strip was the culprit and was gonna order the LED strips and tear the tv down to nothing to install them, but figured I would get this to test them with, and I am glad I did, because it ended up being the power board that was bad, and that is a MUCH simpler swap. this tool displayed consistent voltage to tell me the lights were good, and I could see them lit up through the back plate to confirm the led lights were not the issue.

Worked great
Worked perfectly in diagnosing a few of weak led,s in a seven-year-old Sony backlight TV causing intermittent three flashing red lights of death. Problem solved. easy to use. Be careful not to accidently touch the end of tips when unit is active.
