History at it's finest.
History at it's finest.I love history and Charles River Editors make it so easy to keep you informed! As I have aged I find that I have forgotten many things and this is a quick way to refresh my knowledge. The world is so big and so much has happened in it, no education no matter how good it is, could cover all of it! Thank you, guys! Quick and easy learning for every age.

A very good read
A very interesting book. The author does a great job of telling the story of ancient Ephesus. He does a great job of telling about the ups and downs of the city.

Death of great city
I visited Ephesus and always want to know the history of this city. This book held my interest throughout the reading. However a few maps of area and layout of the city would have been helpful.

Another horribly produced print-to-order
Not even any page numbers in this; Amazon really needs to make clear which are real books and which are these travesties; when will I learn?

Good info, disappointing presentation
Unfortunately, the book promised much but didn't live up to my expectations. The layout is very poor, there are typos, and there are not as many photos as promised. The information is fairly good, albeit a bit confusing--perhaps this is a translation into English? Mind you, the history of this period is somewhat confusing. Nevertheless, I'm happy to have a keepsake of a particularly interesting visit to a spectacular, historical landmark.

O livro termina no Período Bizantino. Para os estudantes da Bíblia em especial, é uma fonte de informação importante para entendermos o contexto histórico, cultural e religioso de uma das principais cidades palco do Novo Testamento.

History of Ephesus up to a thousand or so years ago
This is quite a full history of Ephesus at least up to a thousand or so years ago. The names and dates take a bit of concentration but otherwise I'd a good book.

It gets some basic information wrong. Contrary to what ...
It gets some basic information wrong. Contrary to what is claimed as a possibility in the first few pages, Ayasoluk hill in Ephesus is NOT the location for Troy and there are no credible scholars who think that. The site of Troy has been firmly identified. Also Priam was the Trojan King not the Phrygian King. I gave up after this truly gobsmacking blunder, If the author gets this simple fact on the location of Troy wrong, how can the rest of the text be taken as a reliable account.
