Great device, great price...
FYI - This device does not change an older PS/2 to USB because you want it to. It has to be made with this ability to do so. I bought this device for a totally different reason and it worked like a champ. We use KVM extenders to place a keyboard, mouse and monitor hundreds of feet away from the actually pc panel in which protects the pc from surge, heat and dirt. Newer pcs only come with usb and we needed to test out a newer pc setup on this one machine, but the KVM extender (over 300 bucks) was PS/2. The people are already using a wireless mouse and keyboard set, so I only needed to get the screen to come up. Unfortunately, the PS/2 connectors supply power to the transmitter. This device allowed the power from the usb to be input into the transmitter and get the vga on again. Worked like a charm, did exactly what I needed. Please do some research before reviewing a product saying that it doesn't work. Not everything does what you want it to because you think it should. Your ps/2 device would have to have been made with this in mind and not many except those made towards the end would have gone this way. USB devices to be ran from the ps/2 port, very common. A PS/2 device running off USB, not very common at all.

Adapter != Converter
Got old keyboards hanging around that you want to use with your USB capable devices? Well, forget about that crazy idea, unless you want to throw down more money than a cheap USB keyboard costs. I appreciate your desire to maintain legacy technology for the sake of sharing your savvy, but this little gadget isn't going to make things work. It's just going to have windows tell you it sees some unrecognizable USB device that it doesn't know what to do with.... and unless you've got some serious motivation to make this work, it's probably not worth your time. Nothing against the people who make this mind you, but it's just not going to do what you might hope, given a naive understanding of serial communication. This is being said because i'm an idiot and found out firsthand after buying two.

"This is not the adapter you are looking for" ;)
Unless you literally lost something that looks just like this item...then this is not the adapter you are looking for. It is and does exactly what it says it does, which is why I give it 5 stars. However, unless the cat kicked one of these into the heater vent, your kid threw one of these down the toilet, or you vacuumed one up then I can almost guarantee this is not what you really want. If you are an old skool keyboard junky that likes the clicky-clacky of the the old style keyboards, then you need to have something that actually translates the signals. This is just a wire pass through adapter. IT does its job well and the description says what it is "Replacement". If you never had one, then you aren't replacing anything now are you? Think of it this way, plugging a Stereo Audio RCA cable into the Composite Video RCA slot on the back of your TV doesn't magically give you the Music Videos now does it? What you probably really want, which also works perfectly is PS2 Keyboard To USB Adapter

Wrong kind of adapter for pre-USB PS/2 keyboards.
Read the fine print, carefully. Note: This product is designed as a replacement adapter for keyboards that originally shipped with a PS/2-USB converter So if you have a keyboard made before USB was a thing, such as my old well-built MS keyboard, this little thing wont work. I will not give it a 1-star as I did not read the fine print carefully enough. So my fault. I am sure it serves its intended purpose as a replacement for keyboards that had dual functionality built in. With circuitry for both PS/2 and USB. Instead look into 'active' PS/2 to USB adapters that translate PS/2 to USB. They typically handle both a PS/2 keyboard and mouse.

When they say it's for keyboard that used one, they mean it
I got this for my MS-natural knockoff (Liteon SK-6000) and it does NOT work. But then, this keyboard never was designed to use a USB convertor, so I was kind of expecting it to not work, but still hoping it would. Alas, it didn't, which the description does say, so I'm writing this review to warn anyone else hoping it'll work with this same model keyboard, that it really won't. There's other devices on Amazon that do, keep looking for them.

Works as should.
Build quality, may or may not work with all conversion. Some research has to be done.

Doesn't work read WHY
Doesn't work for my Dell Keyboard and apparently this is pretty common for older keyboards. Here's what I found out...In general, most users having trouble connecting their keyboard to newer computers are looking for a ps/2 to USB signal CONVERTER. These devices use an integrated circuit (pre-programmed chip) to actively translate the ps/2 keyboard signal and convert it into a USB keyboard signal. SO why is this company selling a product that won't necessarily work? Well they know that most people are not going to bother returning a $6 purchase right. Well not me, the ups store is near me and this thing is going back for a refund, it's not the money it's the principal.

A geek's dream
You have to be a geek to even know what this is. It lets you use your old PS/2 devices as a USB device. Who cares, right? Most people don't have PS/2 keyboards or mice laying around, they're cheap to replace, amirite? Yeah...unless you're working with a KVM switch that uses PS/2. We still have a PS/2 16 port switch in our server rack at work so these things are like unicorn blood. It's like the sky opened up and starting raining gummy bears. My only gripe is the PS/2 part is round so if it's next to another in a rack the bulge may prevent it from fitting perfectly but PS/2 is a round device so what can you do? They did a great job of flattening out the portion near the Male USB end on this, I've seen these that are completely round and that flat part helps you fit a bit better when you have multiple adapters in place. Very happy with this product, I give myself 2 thumbs up for finding it.
