Quick and easy set up!
We aren't the people that have a router in the middle of the house, it sits in the home office and obviously creates some dead spots (we have Verizon Fios). The Fios router is actually pretty good, I can get a signal outside on the opposite side of the house, but this extender was necessary to boost the signal for a video keypad to our garage door.Installation was pretty easy and coming from me, I'm just as surprised as everyone else! Normally if my name is attached to something it is a horrible experience and I have to sit on hold for half an hour with tech support just to bang my head on a wall constantly. Here, there were no issues. I plugged it in to my kitchen island outlet, walked into the office and was done in a matter of minutes. I then went downstairs with it and plugged it in, no issues! It picks up on all the signals the router puts out (2.5, 5, and 2.5 IoT). The family that uses it downstairs has no issues with it at all and since the TV is also set up to it, there are no signs of it bogging down or creating a lag issue.Solid product and easy set up, Netgear has yet to let me down!

Super easy to set up and use even for a non tech savvy person like me
I needed this item to be able to extend my WiFi range to be able to use my devices outdoors. I was apprehensive about setting it up, but my apprehension was totally uncalled for. I was able to set it up in less than 5 minutes. The hardest thing about it was trying to come up with a password. Before the extender, the WiFi stopped just short of my front door. Now I can go anywhere in my yard and get strong WiFi signal. I also had an almost dead zone in one room. The signal was very weak and, depending on which way your device was facing, would sometimes cut out altogether. Not anymore! I strongly recommend this extender. The price is right and it works!

Works well enough
Our internet would not reach our children's rooms, so we bought and installed this. They can now stream on their TVs and phone without buffering most of the time.

Setup is ridiculously frustrating
The biggest lie this company sells is that a customer can set up their range extender in five minutes. This is my second extender from Netgear, and honestly, I don’t know why I purchased a second one. My first extender, purchased in 2017, was a total pain to set up. I couldn’t get the website to work 98% of the time. The problem is, in order to access the set up website, you have to be connected to the extender’s Wi-Fi, but that’s almost impossible to get connected to in the first place. When my 2017 extender stopped working, I figured it was just old and needed replacing. I tried updating the firmware, but wasn’t able to do so because the extender wouldn’t even connect to the wifi to get the update.Well, surprise, surprise! The “new and improved” model uses the same, outdated, confusing, annoying website. I finally got the extender to work after about 2 hours. Come to find out, though, that only the 5G wifi worked, but not the 2G, even though the website says both were connected and working properly. That essentially made this extender useless since I was using it with my smart plugs and lights, which only work on a 2G network.I feel like I’ve tried everything and at this point, I’m just really annoyed. The only way I was able to set up the extender was not through the website, but through the default extender IP address, which I luckily found buried within Netgear’s “help” articles. Now, I can’t even get that to work. All in all, I’m super frustrated and will not be purchasing from this company again. It looks like it’s time to find another brand!
