I redid ny daughter's closet this summer. Goodbye wire shelves, hello wooden shelves. I bought these to hang her new clothes rod from a shelf. It was easy to install, although I had to use different screws. They look good and have held up thus far. Really sturdy and worked well.

I used these to hang a rod for hanging plants. They are perfect for a 1" rod. I secured them with the screws that came with them and they are very sturdy. Not sure of the weight but I have 4 good sized pots hanging and they are fine.

I was worried they would be so tight that they'd scratch my white metal 1-1/4" closet rod (especially b/c another review said they're too tight), but they're not too tight at all, there was like a millimeter of play, which was perfect.
