Comfort Cool Thumb CMC Restriction Splint, Left Small 6" to 7"

I was a little hesitant to buy this because of the price, it's fairly expensive considering the other thumb protector I also bought on Amazon that was only $10 (Reversible Thumb & Wrist Stabilizer - which is also very good BTW.) That said, this one is clearly higher end, very good quality soft neoprene like material, soft and gentle feeling. Better thumb support. Surprisingly, as much as it wraps around your thumb it's not bulky and is very comfortable. It leaves more of the palm exposed than any other of the 4-5 thumb holders I have. I have thumb arthritis -the joint at the base of my thumb can be painful, it swells, it gets red, sometimes difficult to do simple tasks like opening jars, etc. and this is great. It' can't solve my problem but it sure makes me forget about it. It may look slightly bulky and does have an extra strap that comes from the wrist, goes around the thumb and Velcro's back at the wrist BUT that slight "extra" strap is slim & adds just a teeny bit of extra bulk really isn't noticed and doesn't hinder movement in anyway - the material is so soft, you don't notice, it just gives more protection and support which is great. Highly recommend overall!I do agree with the questions of some other reviewers about the fact that it tells you to measure the palm of your hand at the knuckles and yet, there is nothing around your knuckles. It wraps at the wrist. So yeah, odd that they have you measure the knuckle width as opposed to the wrist however it fit me perfect! On that note, the width of my palm came out to 7 ¼" so I ordered the 7-8" medium - I probably could have ordered the 7 ¼" - 8 ¼" medium as well. FYI my particular wrist is fairly tiny, just 6" so if I had a bigger wrist then maybe you'd want to order a size upI f you're in-between sizes or close, I'd go the size up.

Have been using this brace for a week after being diagnosed with CMC arthritis in the wrist and trigger thumb, needed something a little more customized than the wrist brace I had been using. Really like that it’s easy to put on, and that it is comfortable to wear for hours. Only concern is that the Velcro attachments seem to be a little weak, but so far it is holding together. Haven’t washed it yet as I was waiting on another one to arrive (the braceUP®️ thumb stabilizer) but think it should hold up well to hand washing in Woolite.

The product is great but it didn't relieve my pain as much as I thought it would.. Could be that it's really inflamed...

They don’t last forever, but they are helpful. I wish they came in other colours, skin tones, so they were less obvious.

Not only is it well constructed, but it immediately relieves pain to the CMC joint (thumb) when in use.

The Velcro is extremely stiff making it difficult to wrap around my wrist uncomfortable to wear. The Velcro has snagged my clothing on multiple occasions, pulling threading out and ruining a couple shirts. On the plus side, my thumbs have improved. But I am in search of a different style using no Velcro.

Revision 04/06/2023: I have both a left and right hand splint. The narrow strap on the right hand splint is separating. That is, the top fabric layer is separating from the Velcro layer. It still works, but is kind of "floppy". I see fine stitching on the left hand splint strap, but none at all on the right hand strap that is separating. I'll probably have to try to put in some stitches or put some glue on the surfaces to keep them together. This is really disappointing for something that works so well.I wish that I could wear these all day long, but that seems impracticable. You really have to take them off a lot to avoided getting them wet and/or dirty. By the end of the day both of my thumbs ache so I wear them to bed. It really helps. Wearing them during a long drive might be helpful, but I really don't drive long distances.I bought one for my right hand and not too long after, I bought one for the left. There are cheaper ambidextrous braces (and I have one), but they don't do it for me. I have pretty bony hands, but when I measured them for the right fit, the Medium Plus size is the one I went with. They seem to work well, so I'll stick with that size.

I could still lift weights with this thumb splint. It is flexible! It helped with the pain and to keep my thumb from moving around too much- no hard splint in the brace which is what I wanted.

I bought one splint 4 months ago but the the sticky joint is no longer sticky any more. The strap comes off easily all the time. The splint is no longer working. Does the product have any warranty? I cannot find warranty info anywhere. If not, could you send me a free replacement since I got this one only 4-5 months ago? I am aware you are just a distributor, not the manufacturer. But the philosophy is that if I buy a product that has defects from Walmart, I go to Walmart for change or refund; I do not have to contact the manufacturer in this regard.

Very happy, it's light fits great and provides the perfect support for my thumb. I'm trying to find the same one, but for the left hand, but I can't find one, so I had to contact the seller??

My sister had bought these from the hospital as that is what they recommended and so glad I found them on amazon. I'm glad I could try hers on first so I knew correct size as they are really work!!!
