Beautiful India inspired designs
The media could not be loaded. This is a smaller format book of designs inspired by the art and the heritage of India. The book has 72 pages of designs and is in a nice compact form (only 7 x 7 inches.) The binding is at the top of the book, so it will be great for both right-handed and left-handed colorists. The binding is very pliable and it would be very simple to remove pages from the book. At the back of the book is a heavy cardboard which gives a good base to support the book if you are working with it in your hand instead of on a tabletop. The designs are printed on the front side of each bright white medium weight page with the backside blank. The prints themselves range from some with heavy lines to some with very delicate lines. My children's after-school care was provided by a gracious family from India. Their home was beautiful with many traditional Indian art designs and their clothing was gorgeous. The colors of the saris that they wore will be a huge inspiration to me as I color in this book. The designs are beautiful and have a variety of styles and some have very intricate parts to them. I will probably resort to my magnifying lamp from time to time with this book.My pencils and gel pens are working great with the paper but I will use a backing piece of freezer paper or cardstock if I decide to use markers as some may leach through and ruin the next page of designs. This is a new design company for me and, based on how beautifully done and unusual the concept is for this book, I have now purchased their books on Japan and Butterflies and am considering some others that they have available in kit format.

I don't feel like my prismacolor pencils are really made for this book ...
This book is compact and the pages are thick. I don't feel like my prismacolor pencils are really made for this book though so I have stuck to gel pens and my fineliner pens. The images are beautiful but the details are very tiny. The book is extremely well made and images are only one one side of the paper. The binding makes it very easy to take out pages so I can do them without smudging them but the book is so well made that you can leave the pieces inside the book as well. I think the only thing that would make this a better coloring book would be that it was either bigger or that the images were chosen in a way that there aren't such teeny tiny details to color. I will add more pictures of the things I have done over time.

Gorgeous Indian coloring book
I looked forward to ordering this for a while and it did not disappoint. Most of the pages can be colored by most people, though there are a few pages that will require a magnifying glass (if you are 40+ like I am) and sharp pencils or ultra fine pens. Since I use pencils, I can't say whether or not the pages will bleed, though they are on the thicker side and the images are only on one side so it may not be an issue at all. The pages include elephants, Buddhist and Hindu artwork to color. I love that these pictures are so beautiful they encourage me to investigate other cultures and art.The size is perfect and I love that there is a stiff back for coloring on the go or in your living room on the couch.

Could have easily been 5 stars but for one flaw
I would have given this book 5 stars but for one thing. Some of the images are so SO super small you cant really get into the spaces to color. The pictures are GORGEOUS, the duplicates that everyones talking about? Eh, i dont mind them at all I like having extra copies to do them in different ways. For the most part there are very different pictures. The paper? well its FANTASTIC, sharpies dont even bleed through... I love that its glued, I love that its bound on the top. There are so many loves in this book, save the ONE huge issue... -.- What do you do about lines that are so close you need a magnifying glass? =( That makes me sad.

Nice pictures, smaller than expected
I should’ve read the description more thoroughly; this is not a standard size coloring book it is a smaller square book. I photocopy the pictures and blow them up so it’s still useful but I wish it had been standard size.

A good page size for coloring
A good page size for coloring, and can travel without a problem as it is smaller than most coloring books. The designs are beautiful! and require a very fine pointed marker or very sharp pencil to be used on some of them as some designs seem very small for the average tipped marker. Otherwise love the thick paper, the deigns over all are a great variety, and the fact you can tear the pages...a plus.

Pretty but not enough variety for my taste
Too many of the same types of designs

Beautiful selection.
The media could not be loaded. There is a wide variety of themes available in the Vive Le Color series, I have three in total which were sent to me directly from the publishers to review on my myrandomreviewsblog blog, I figured I'd post my thoughts on amazon too. This review is for the India themed book. In this book you’ll find a lovely selection of designs featuring elephants, flowers, Indian Gods as well as several henna and paisley style patterns. There’s also a bird or two in there. The flower in my photos has been completed with Crayola Supertips, which did not bleed through and the Henna style pattern I completed with Marco Renoir Fine Color coloured pencils, which are available on Amazon. There are varying levels of difficulty, some designs have larger spaces to colour, while there’s some very intricate designs for those who love colouring complex images. The less intricate designs are perfect for my daughter as they can be completed more quickly, she loves the complex designs but doesn’t have as much time as she’d like to complete them because of school work. I find the complex designs more relaxing, it takes more concentration to colour these in, which means my mind is taken off my anxiety. With 72 pages there should be plenty to suit whatever style you prefer. The book measures 17 x 17 CM and has a sturdy cardboard back, meaning that they are very portable and you don’t have to work at a table. My Daughter carries the one around with her in her school bag with some mini pencils so she can sit in the yard and colour on her lap during lunch breaks. Even the most complex of the images don’t seem so daunting thanks to the size. The images are big enough to offer opportunity for shading and fine details, while also being a manageable size. Great for experts and beginners like myself. The paper is a good quality, meaning most mediums will not bleed through, but should you experience bleeding it’s not a problem as the paper is only printed on one side. I really love when adult colouring publishers do this as I know I can use anything I like to colour and I won’t be ruining another image should my pens bleed through. Placing a peice of card stock inbetween offers extra reassurance if you need it, but we didn’t have any issues with ink soaking to the page underneath. Each book, when opened lays flat. I love this because it means it’s easy to colour near the binding. We find that with other books we’ve used, once you get a quarter of the way in through the pages you have to put a lot of pressure on the spine to open up the book to reach the designs and it’s really nice to not have to do that with this book. The pages can be easily torn out without ruining the paper, this means you can either tear them out to colour if you wish, or frame your completed designs, my Daughter plans to write a poem or personal message on the blank reverse and laminate some of her completed designs to give as gifts or instead of Birthday cards to her friends and family. I think it’s a great idea.

with lots of intricate pictures - difficult to colour without using fine liners. Paper quality is excellent
Very small book, with lots of intricate pictures - difficult to colour without using fine liners. Paper quality is excellent, and it's easy to carry around, but a lot of images don't seem particularly Indian, or are too small to colour. If this book was A4 sized, with the pictures increased in size to match, it would be much better.

bellissimo!!!!
Adoro questi librini.
