Pololu 5V 500mA Step-Down Voltage Regulator

Works as expected-this is not my favorite way of stepping down the voltage-I made the mistake of buying the super simple Luminere Power4 board and had to buy one of these to get my 5v kick down-worked great but and did it;s job but in the future I imagine buying more advanced PDB's with built in regulators

This was my first time using one of these Pololu voltage regulators, and it is possible that I received a bad unit. Bottom line, I was a bit disappointed with this product because it simply did not work as I had expected it to. It was unable to keep my flight controller powered up and instead, my flight controller simply would reboot every two to three seconds. I then attempted to plug in an FPV camera while taking the flight controller out of the picture and there simply was no image coming from the camera even though I was able to get a reading of 5 volts from the device and 5 volts going into the camera. Yes, the camera works, I plugged it into a different PDB and powered right up. My guess is that this device could not deliver sufficient current to my flight controller or my FPV camera - which was quite disappointing. Needless to say, unsoldering and sending this thing back just was not worth my time and effort. I just won't buy again. I'd recommend you choose a PDB with built-in regulators over one of these units.

Very delicate. I got 2, but I only needed one.First one caught fire on me after I put it on a larger board. (Maybe I heated it a bit to much during installation?)I did not solder the second one to the board directly, instead just using some wires, worked fine excluding some voltage drop issues under load.I had issues getting a accurate DMM measurement off it until I used solder.

Would have give a 5 star but 1 in 4 didn't work and they are have bumped one too hard and now it is not working. I would recommend taping the back before you solder it on to the board.

Perfect for providing clean 5v power to low voltage components from 2s and above batteries. Tiny and inexpensive. Their step up regulator is also awesome.

Only stepped down to 9v. Was told the fail rate was high with these. Can not recommed.

Steps down nicely to 5V from 12V supply.

Works like it should.
