What's the least amount of people you can play with?

The game requires a minimum of 7 players if you want it to last more than 1 round, but the more players you have the better it is (7 is fun but 10+ is ideal). If you play with 6, one player is the narrator, one player dies before the game really even starts, and a second player dies after the first round or "debate". So by the time you get to the second round (and the werewolf strikes again), there are only two players left and the game is over... And that's only if the werewolf of manged to survive the first round. If you don't have 7 players you can play the "One Night" version, but it's not as fun in my opinion. Another great game for fewer players is "Coup", a bluffing game.

How does this compare to the One Night series?

I actually bought this set of cards specifically to play by One Night rules. I liked the design of the cards much better than the One Night set and since the main characters are the same, it works pretty well. And while some of the character cards are different, the card set contains several blank cards where you can designate other characters like the Minion, Masons, etc. As far as using the cards and playing by Werewolf rules, it's a lot more like the standard Mafia game. For this reason there are so many villager and werewolf cards. I like this set of cards because you can use it to play One Night or Werewolf. And whether you use the Werewolf moderator card to read through each round or use the One Night App, the card set is much more travel friendly than the One Night set with the tokens. You should totally buy this set of cards.
