Quirky Mocubo Cutting Board

This has been great in my tiny kitchen! I’m learning to cook with purple carrot vegan meal delivery, and there’s so much to chop. These little drawers slide in and out easily, and hold most of the veggies I chop for 2-3 servings. They stack too. Much easier than having multiple round containers taking up precious counter space while preparing a meal.I’ve been hand washing the drawers since I think they’re acrylic. I know hot dishwashers send spider cracks through my acrylic tumblers, so I’m not taking any chances.Some reviewers said their wood cracked, so I immediately treated mine with whatever bamboo cutting board oil I had on hand. And it seems to need more of it every week or 2! I live at the beach, so humidity is fairly high, but the air is salty too. It’s never “humid” in San Diego because the ocean air keeps it cool.So, definitely buy some kind of mineral oil and expect to treat this cutting board often, like twice a month. I think it’s acacia wood, not bamboo. My bamboo boards can go months before I oil them.Also, I store this on the counter, tipped on its side, easily. It’s very sturdy. Great space saver.

I have never felt the need to swipe my chopped vegetables into a small drawer to get them safely into the pan, but perhaps there's a whole world out there that I am unaware of. As a countertop storage system, it's great. I bought it because I needed to raise up my small espresso machine so I could fit the jug under the frothing wand. I didn't want to buy the K-cup storage unit because the wire inserts are made to store only K cups. The three drawers slide in with a comforting click, and in them I can store all my coffee and tea-making tools: cleaning brush, dosing spoons, carbon dioxide filters for the coffee can, tea bag filters for tea, tea strainers and all sorts of wee things that would invoke frustrated rummaging in a standard kitchen drawer. The bamboo wood top is resistant to hot water and can be maintained with a few drops of mineral oil.

I am really enjoying this cutting board! I like to have all my ingredients prepped before I start cooking. I used to have bowls all over my counter holding various chopped veggies, but now they can go in the drawers under the cutting board, which saves counter space. In a small kitchen, that's really nice. The cutting board itself is large enough to cut whatever I need, and I like the look of bamboo. I just wish the drawers were a little bigger. I can't even fit a medium onion (sliced) into one drawer. I guess if they were bigger the cutting board would be too and would defeat the purpose of being space saving.The box this comes in gives other suggestions for use too, like using it as a serving tray for cheese and crackers, and storing extra crackers underneath. Awesome!

This is a great board! I oiled the surface for a week with cutting board oil, and it’s performing well. I don’t know if it was by acccident or just by luck, but this board fits perfectly across one side off my sink, front to back. I made one small modification as shown in the picture. I glued small pieces of 1/16 inch thick rubber in the corners of the board itself, so when it’s spanning my sink it doesn’t slide around.

THIS cutting board is made very well and is "quirky" but useful. When I saw it I thought "what a great idea". and it is indeed a great idea. I normally cut next to the sink but my stove is on the other side of kitchen. Putting the pieces and parts in the plastic container and then taking to the stove is a great idea. I can continue to cut other things in the meantime. This is made very well and seems to resist knife slices on the wood. This came very quickly and was packaged well. I would recommend especially for those people that may be limited on space.

How cool is this thing?! Quirky always has the best stuff. Seeing as how all of their products are a combined effort of inventors the world round you can see why! This cutting board for example, sturdy, clever, and works exactly as it should, it's basically my dream cutting board (Oh man, I'm getting old...). It'd been on my wish list for a few YEARS before i finally let myself get it, I shouldn't have waited so long!I know I'm supposed to like the drawers because they hold stuff i've chopped, but... My favorite part is that the drawers lightly 'snap' into place so they don't fall out when you move the board.

I really like this board, love the little drawers, I can just use it for my chopped up ingredients. But it seems to have a little tiny crack on the side of the board, but I don't know if it was shipped like that or if it started separating after I started using it. Anyway I've had it for almost two months only, so that's a flaw in the board anyway. But it's nothing too big that would bother me too much.
