Love This Stuff
My baby was born early and had very sensitive skin. I used Pampers Sensitive Wipes, diapered her in Swaddlers, changed her constantly, and put no creams on her bottom. Still, her bottom became raw days after birth and developed a gnarly yeast infection that took FIVE WEEKS (count 'em!) and three rounds of Nystatin and steroids to clear (crunchy moms, I tried every holistic remedy known to man and couldn't clear this stuff, it was awful!). I stopped the wipes, began washing her bottom with warm water, air drying it thoroughly, applying aloe to alleviate redness and coconut oil because of its anti fungal properties (I can't say enough about how great aloe works, btw), and layering on the prescriptions. After about 14 days (and two rounds of drugs) it cleared. Thrilled, I began using barrier creams to prevent it from returning, while continuing the washing and drying her bottom rather than using wipes. Bordeaux's Butt Paste is so highly reviewed and I had a tube lying around from her shower, so I tried that. For whatever reason, her tiny bottom got red. Coincidence maybe? I gave it a few more shots and each time... red. That went in the trash! Desitin Max Strength... that ought to work, right?! Max Strength? Wrong... It left her bottom caked in powder and still turned red underneath. Desitin Rapid Relief... a little better but her skin still turned bright pink. Grandma El's (which I loooove)... didn't turn it red like the others but didn't seem to prevent a lot from touching her skin, and after a few wet diapers in a row the redness began to return. A&D... same story... it didn't "cause" redness but over a series of diapers it didn't prevent it either. There were a few more in my baby shower stash but I can't recall at the time what they were in any event, the redness seemed to be impossible to prevent despite my obsessively changing her diaper and air drying her. Within a week, the skin was sore enough for the yeast to return and stick around for another 10 days. The third round of meds seemed to kick it and we enjoyed a week of healthy looking baby bottom using nothing besides water and air (no creams) before redness began to return. This time because she happened to pee on our way home from the grocery store, so she had to wait ~8 minutes for a change. Despite her Pampers Swaddlers, the pH still turned her bright red (per her doctor, the urine pH was to blame) and I tried the remaining meds to cure it (to no avail). Three days later, I said forget all the meds and used just Aloe for the redness (again, works wonders!) and because the urine seems to burn her skin, applied the Aquaphor Diaper Rash cream, expecting more redness. There was no change for 2 days but the 3rd day she had gone from red to pink, so it wasn't "hurting" her. When the pink faded, I stopped the Aloe and began cautiously using just the diaper cream at every diaper. On our way home, she pooped and I nearly panicked over how red her bottom would be in the few minutes it took to change her. However, no redness this time. The diaper cream was working AND not irritating her sensitive baby skin. I was beyond excited. We are going on a week of no rash (still avoiding wipes and using damp cotton balls sometimes dipped in Aloe) and I've decided to use nothing but this from now on. We used plain Aquaphor before and it didn't seem to prevent the redness the way this stuff does. I know plenty of babies have better luck with other creams but after obsessing for 5 weeks over clearing a rash, we are going to stick with what works for us. And that's Aquaphor Diaper Rash Cream!

Best Diaper Ointment
As a grandmother, I've seen many a diaper rash. My family doctor mentioned the efficacy of this ointment as she has 2 little ones. It really does the job. Rash disappears in no time.

Consistency is great. Product works mildly, but did not completely remove chapping.
We use a butt-spatula to apply this product and it spreads, coats, and sticks really well. We use it every diaper change and while previously my baby's butt had a small amount of blood, it is now visibly chapped but looks much much better.Chapping still has not went completely away, even with more frequent diaper changes, so I can't rightfully give it 5 stars.
