Powerwinch Anchor Roller Heavy Duty Self Launching Stainless

Installed this bow pulpit anchor roller on a 26 foot power boat. The stock anchor roller was small, thin and flimsy and never should have been installed on this boat in the factory. In fact, when I bought the boat, the thin flimsy roller that came with the boat was twisted. This powerwinch roller is made for a 45 foot boat and is very stout, though a bit shorter than I had hoped. 4 stars because a small plastic item (non-essential) on the roller was shattered / broken when received. I considered it a non-issue, but still, all the pieces should be shipped and received intact. Just got through using it on a multiday trip to the islands, where we anchored multiple times per day, and it's performance was excellent.

This was a piece of junk. Totally did not fit and made calls to make sure it fit. Returned to Amazon and had to pay restocking fee. The part was 200.00, I was refunded 145.00, total disgrace!😡

This item arrived very quickly. I'm very impressed with how heavy-duty it is; I've had a regular-duty Lewmar version of this in my hands, and the Lewmar feels downright flimsy by comparison. "Bomb-proof" is the best description. When it comes to boats and anchoring, the more solid it feels and the more stainless steel it contains, the better. I'm pleased with my purchase.I haven't hit the salt water yet with this on the bow, but expect it to perform well. However, I'll update my review if there is any evidence of corrosion.August 2011 Update: have had this on the bow for about 4 months now and there's no evidence of corrosion or wear.July 2016 Update: 5 years on the boat now and still no sign of corrosion.

I use this with a windlass unit and a 22 pound delta (plow) anchor. It has been great. The anchor comes up smoothly as long as I have the anchor rode lined up pretty well - something you need with any anchor roller. I also like the loop at the end. It serves as an automatic lock with my Lewmar delta anchor. I still attach another lock to the anchor chain before getting under way but I am a cautious guy and like the loop for added security.

My 45 lb. CQR anchor fit nicely, although a bit narrow. The base has 3 mounting holes 3/8". Inside could have been polished more like the outside. Wish base was a little longer with another mounting hole. My SS anchor chain swivel did snag on first use. 4 stars.

Almost seems too bulky/sturdy for our 22' C-Dory. Wish they made one about half the width and slightly longer. But the product itself seems to be pretty robust.
