Exactly what I needed
I never liked to wear knee pads on a regular basis because they were uncomfortable and would end up sliding down my knee after a little while. When I did wear them, it was for aggressive riding in chunky and fast trails where the risk of injury was high and I would immediately take them off for the climb or even for the flats. Picking when to wear protection is like predicting when you're going to fall. It doesn't work. After my last wipeout that left my knees oozing for a few weeks, I swore that I would make wearing knee pads on every ride mandatory. In order to do this I had to find a pair that were comfortable to pedal in and of course provides good protection for the front of my knees and also the sides. I tried POC VPD2.0, which were really tight and bulky. I moved on to POC VPD air, which were highly rated but irritated the back of my knees. I tried multiple Alpinestars pads in different cuts and Sam Hill pads as well. They all went back until I found the Fox Launch D30 pads. The fit was tight at first, but I was impressed with the padding protection while remaining somewhat slim. The cutout behind the knee allows your knee to flex without pinching and bunching up. The straps actually work and do a great job at keeping things in place for the duration of my ride. As luck would have it, I recently crashed on a steep DH section and took a direct hit to the knees and walked away unscathed. I had scratches and bruises above and below the pads, but no damage at all to my knees. Amazing!! I highly recommend these pads. However, I would caution you to avoid sticking your fingers in the opening behind the knee to help pull them on or off. Yes, it's really tempting and convenient to do so, but it will tear the stitching if you do. If you only tug on them from the top or bottom strap areas you will be fine.

Well made, breathable, comfortable
Great fit, as breathable as you could hope for, and comfortable. I ride with a little more confidence knowing the lower limbs are protected better. Very satisfied.

I like the extra insurance
These pads are very comfortable to wear. Initially, I didn't tighten down the right leg pad enough, and found that it slipped down a little during my ride. After spending a few seconds repositioning it and tightening it down a little more with the straps, I was good to go. Falling on a mountain bike is never gentle so I'm glad I have pads that I can trust.

Way better than my last
These are so much better than my old pads! Great quality and I feel a lot safer riding with these on

Saved my knee/shin
I wiped out while hitting a jump on my MTB. Most of the impact was on my right knee. I slammed into the dirt and slid 15ft. I thought for sure the kneepad would be destroyed. Not even a scratch or rip and no injuries to me. Comfortable to ride in and absorbs sweat pretty good. I would recommend wearing knee-high socks if wearing shorts. They stay in position while riding. Go by the size chart. Measure your legs as shown on the chart in the pictures. I used a charger cord to wrap around my legs then measured the cord with a tape measure. Would def recommend. I would still be injured today if I was not wearing them when I fell. I may even look at getting elbow pads too…

Well made but awkward fit
Like the Fox elbow guards I got, these also had an awkward adjustment strapping. It certainly was cushy to provide protection and good quality, but the Velcro strapping for adjustments wasn’t comfortable. The weight wasn’t an issue; you knew they were there but it didn’t weigh you down. Returned

Comfortable while riding
I wanted to some knee protection that would not bother me while riding and these are the first pair that I’ve owned. I’ve had a couple of rides with them and am happy so far. I have not fallen to see how well the D30 works and am trying to avoid that, but when it happens I’m hopeful that they work as they are suppose to! They definitely make my knees sweat while riding but I don’t notice while riding and I would rather have good protection and they stay in place while Mountain biking. I would recommend

Protective and comfortable, don't slide down.
Replaced an old pair of TLDs with these for downhill. They give you the extra protection but are really comfortable and didn't slide down once over three days of riding park and trail. Very good!!
