iOptron iPolar Electronic Polarscope with Adapter (3339-025)

I put this on my old CG5 mount. Installed easily (had to fiddle with the set screws to get a good, tight fit, but no big deal). Installed the software and connected the camera via USB. Went through the alignment procedure. I can see Polaris but no other stars around it from my light-polluted driveway - iPolar picked up over 20 stars. Alignment was EASY. Too easy. So I moved my mount and did it again. Second time took me less than one minute. In the software, you align a cross with a circle. When aligned, I can rotate my mount and the alignment holds, letting me know I have it nailed. This is a must have - no back-breaking squatting to polar align anymore!! One note - on software version 2.62, after confirming position 1 and before moving to position 2, put your hand in front of the iPolar camera and rotate the RA axis manually, about 45° - you'll get a better alignment.

Polar align was so fast and accurate, I loved it.

Ipolar is great, makes very accurate polar alignment a breeze. The included adapter fit my old faithful CG5 perfectly, only thing is the clutch lever forces you to take the camera in and out if you need to release your clutch to move freely in dec. Small price to pay IMO and no fault of the ipolar or adapter.

Easiest polar alignment I've ever had, and in a Bortle 6 sky. Jumped from that to a ones star alignment on my AVX and tracked for 3 minute exposures on a few nebulae all night.

It really made polar alignment much easer.

Not much else to say, works as it should.

Easiest polar alignment tool I’ve ever used. No more kneeling and stiff neck from peering through a polar scope. I only wish it offered Linux and Mac OS versions of the accompanying software.
