Works perfectly
We bungee strapped it to the bottom of our Motorhome, built-in propane tank. Our propane was getting way too cold for our furnace to even ignite. The furnace started working within a half hour of mounting the straps. Excellent find.

Slow Heating, Constant Cycling
It works as expected, mostly. The temperature sensor is embedded in the silicon band, so it heats up higher, and quicker than the drum around which it is positioned. So it turn on and off frequently even though far from up to temperature. In case anyone else had a similar idea for using this heater, I should elaborate. I wanted to heat a barrel of water to 165 degrees to pasteurize straw for growing mushrooms. After a full day of heating, it was only up to 135 degrees at which point I quit trying. Doing the math, it appears a 1200 watt heater could heat the water to 165 degrees in 14 hours ... but that is ideal conditions. So, for my application, even with some insulation around the steel barrel, this band heater is WAY too underpowered. And I believe part of the problem is the constant cycling before reaching a set temperature. Without that cycling it may have worked better, although still a bit low powered for my attempt. I only took one star off for my perceived problem with the temperature probe and the cycling. It does heat. Just need a smaller quantity.

It gets hot
I got this to heat up a keg to 190* it go’s up to 300 but after 3 hrs it didn’t heat up the mash to distill it. Good for keeping things warm but not for distilling

Photos Incorrect
The photo shows the thermostat and plug on one end of the band, but it's actually right in the middle. I'm sure it works fine, but it's useless for my application.
