Spiritual Tarot: Seventy-Eight Paths to Personal Development Review: My go-to tarot book (and I have many...). Excellent for spiritual and path work tarot practice. - I purchased this hoping for a book to help me advance my understanding of tarot from a spiritual and path work lens. It's a solid guide for both. The authors incorporate archetypes and the major arcana is divided into 2 archetypal journeys but I wouldn't recommend this book as an introduction to archetypal tarot. However, if you're familiar with archetypes, you will appreciate how they are woven into the interpretations and into the exploratory questions. For each card, this book includes brief and insightful interpretations of the imagery from the RWS, Morgan Greer and the Aquarian decks. While I don't use all 3 decks (I've never really connected with the RWS deck but use the Morgan Greer deck plus some awesome indie deck), examining the differences between the illustrations provides deeper understanding of the card. I particularly appreciate the first-person narrative story for each card that includes a key phrase (ex: 6 Cups "using memories and feelings creatively" and The Chariot "determined search for greater understanding"). The authors chose to use "shadow aspects" rather than reverse interpretations. This really allows you to decide how you use reversals in your readings, if you use them at all. Lastly, each card includes 4 guiding questions or gateway statements for you to explore the meaning of the card in your reading. I've used these for journaling and to help me navigate complicated readings. If you're looking for a guidebook to help you with "love/money/career/family" readings, this is not the one. If your tarot practice is about self examination and exploring your relationship with the All That Is and the always changing world, this book is a wonderful companion. Review: I use it daily in my practice. - This is by far, for me, my favorite Tarot book of interpretations. It offers an excellent spiritual perspective like no other book I have or have looked at. Tarot is such an excellent tool for personal growth if used in a daily practice in a particular way, this book offers a unique perspective well worth having.

Excellent for using Tarot for personal growth
I started using this book with a Morgan deck over 20 years ago. I literally wore out my old copy!!! It was duct taped together, so I was so excited and pleased that they are now reprinting it.

Excellent resource, dated production.
One of my favorite resources for reading and interpreting cards. I love the use of multiple decks and symbolism, themes, as well as explorations of the positive and shadow sides of every cards. I wish they would do an update/digital version because the text is a bit crammed and a trifle hard to read. Updated content, especially images, would serve this wonderful resource well.

This is the best tarot book I have ever had
This is the best tarot book I have ever had. I do readings with them, and it has helped me develop a great relationship with the cards, understand the archetypes better, and know the symbols from each style of "traditional" decks.

Nice spiritual Tarot guide book.
My copy of this book is showing a little wear and tear. It's a lovely guide book. Always insightful, always peaceful. I enjoy the way it's written as if the characters on the cards are talking to you about what they are doing.

Typical Beginners Book
Spirtual Tarot is designed for beginners and consists largely of a card by card description of the deck. Three decks are used for every card, the Rider-Waite, Morgan-Greer, and Aquarian Decks. Comparing the three was sort of interesting, especially since I generally don't use such Rider-Waite based decks. Each card begins with a two to four paragraph "I" statements written by the card itself, followed by a key phrase and 2-3 pages of further description. This is certainly more in depth than most books, which only spent a few paragraphs per card. The authors tried to point out the spirtual aspect of each card. In some cases, this provided new insight into cards that are usually viewed in a more mundane manner. Just as often though, they missed the mark. Some cards really aren't about spirtuality. I noticed a decided theme towards polarity, and a tendency to describe too many cards as a balance or tension of themes. The emphasis on color symbology and right/left symbology is hard to relate between decks, but is quite insightful. I often forget to look to such details. Towards the back of the book there is a list of layouts. I was very impressed with the celtic cross layout (cross of awareness). Not only does the book give the most clear and useful definitions of the positions I have seen in a long time, but it describes the important interrelationships between the positions. Unfortunately the relationships are described for each pairing seperately, giving one little clue as to how the pairings were detected. Still, this book takes it much further than most. After the celtic cross, the book goes through a few other layout, but not the postion relationships. Finally, some sample readings are given, and they are pretty good. Overall, the book was decent, but not much different than the many other beginners books on the market.

The book has over 300 pages of content but not overwhelming. They give you enough information about each card, for about 2-3 pages each. The last three chapters (parts 4 to 6) makes up 1/3rd of the book & focuses on card layouts & sample readings. Its very thorough and really helps you understand how to read the cards in relation to one another. In the sample readings section, you find more info on how to interpret the meaning of a card in a reading (which slightly changes from the actual meaning of the card itself). This is a kind of a book that gives you enough but yet you wish there was more. I find myself reaching for it often. I didn’t have this same experience with my other tarot book, ‘Power of tarot’ which only had spreads but not very good information on the cards themselves. For a beginner, you really need a book that dives a bit deep into the cards meanings and also tells you how to read them in a spread. This book does it for me. I’m happy with the purchase.

Falta de cuidado no embalamento do livro: trazia um pedaço de cola na capa da frente

This book gives so much depth and meaning to tarot cards. It includes information on the gifts and challenges of each card. The section on how to read a card gives 5 different ways to do so, which I found useful. Briefly they are 1. Describe the image 2. explain suit and number 3. apply meaning to your question or card position 4. what does the card say to you intuitively 5 what is the gift or challenge this cards offers you and 6. what lesson for your higher purpose does the card present you. the book expands on this with examples.

Truly a classic! It should be sold with the Smith Waite, Morgan Greer and Aquarian Tarot as the most comprehensive 'one-and-done' book for every tarot beginner. Equally meaty for intermediate and experienced readers - this books is that accessible. Don't bother building an unnecessary library unless that's your pleasure - this is all you need to get reading easily and effectively. I can't comprehend why it isn't as popular was 78 Degrees - this is far more accessible and easier to dip in and out of. Print image quality could absolutely be improved but it's my only gripe. You absolutely won't regret the purchase.

I have the Morgan - Greer deck and you get a little fold out little white book. This book has the RWS (there are plenty of books on that deck), the M - G and the Palidini I think. This book has an explanation of the imagery of the card and some interesting thoughts and ideas of how to interact with the cards. I recommend this book.
