qt Zinsser 249727 White Zinsser, Smart Prime Water-Based Interior/Exterior Primer/Sealer

I don't understand why people give this a bad review or return it. It's the best primer for cabinets.

Used it after taking down wallpaper. Some glue stayed behind, and I didn’t want it reactivating with a regular primer. This one sealed it all in, stuck well even on shiny spots, and covered everything without a problem.

These new hybrid urethane products are revolutionary. Dries fast, high build, water clean up, sands easily to a smooth finish ready for paint.

We have used this primer successfully on a number of projects with wood, including a garage door in an area outdoors that is hit by a fair amount of rain. The paint has held up well even without the Sherwin Williams Emerald top coat in Cotton White that we were going to use. Emerald has a primer in it, but we thought this Smart Prime covered better than expected and so far we haven't used the Emerald on the door. This Smart Prime may be a little thicker than some other primers, which might explain its effectiveness in comparison with other primers. Remember to stir it well. We have bought 9 cans of this over about 4 years and would buy it again

Game changer in my opinion. ALMOST as good as an oil base primer as far as covering stains and tannins but with the ease of use and lack of fumes that you would expect from a water based product. Two coats completely covered a pure black creosote stain. If you’ve ever tried to paint over creosote stains you know how impressive this is. Adhesion is excellent assuming the prep work is done correctly and it sands with relative ease.

This is a great product I use it all the time, works great for cabinets and is extremely durable and they wonderful base for high quality paint jobs .. My most recent purchase was a very dodgy can... The product had separated and that basically had what can be described as a sandy putty... No matter how much I mix the paint I could not get it to smooth out... It was pretty annoying because it set back a customer job. Five stars on the product one star on them supplier... I don't know where the hell they kept this paint before they shipped it...

Refinished 35-year old varnished cabinets. After sanding and applying grain filler, primed them with 2 coats of this product. It spreads easily, doesn’t run, and levels well. Used Benjamin Moore Advance as the topcoat.. Cabinets look great. I highly recommend this product!

Best product ever to cover dark paint. Goes on thick and covers in one coat. Excellent product. A bit expensive and hard to find but worth purchasing for sure.
