Nice product
Renogy has nice products but they lack in experienced service reps/techs, they told me to ask them any questions on how to use their devices i purchased, this was for a solar dc to dc dual input charger/controller. Told me no on my setup and that i couldn't use their device but they sold it to me anyway. I got my answer from people on Quara forums sadly and not Renogy. All i wanted to do was a standard RV with aux battery setup but i have a dc power supply/charger unit for lead acid i use for my agm bank 120amp smart charger and it works great on my setup it charges my agm bank and powers the Renogy with zero issues using the alternator side of the charger keeping the lithium separate from agm bank. Why they had to make it so hard for me to figure out is beyond me must be a script reader answering tech questions. Bad support great product, well so far it seems great.

Works for Bouge RV solar controller
The internal BT failed in my BougeRV solar controller which has a data port. I plugged this BT-02 into it and I once again have the Bouge BT bluetooth functioning. No need to use Renogy app!Just plug this in and your orig app works.

Renogy Bluetooth charge controller monitor
This Bluetooth device reports information from the Renogy DC50S charge controller. As far as I am aware it is the only device available to do this. It reports the voltage and amperage going to the battery, from the solar panels and from an alternative source such as a vehicles alternator. It also reports the battery temperature. This is useful information however it does not report the charge state of my lithium battery well. It mostly reads 100%. I can guess by the number of amps going to it when charging. To connect to the device with my phone I need to connect manually everytime. Bluetooth devices usually connect automatically. It is a minor inconvenience. There is little documentation on what it is reporting. It was only after hooking stuff up that I could figure that out. It does connect easily to the charge controller and has enough cord to be placed conviently.

Good info - drawback is temp reading stays on Celsius instead of Fahrenheit
Most of my Amazon purchases for my van conversion solar system have been Renogy products. They are a trusted name in the solar industry and the BT-2 is the newest of the bluetooth modules. It is plugged into my Renogy charge controller to give me up-to-date information on the solar charging status. The only negative thing is the temperature readout on the app is in Celsius - not Fahrenheit and I have not been able to change it through any of the settings.

Does not work without active internet connection.
This does not workwithout a working internet connection. If you create an account the app claims that it will work over Bluetooth, and won’t require you to login again. This is a LIE. I just turn on the app after successfully setting it up a few months ago. The app said Token failed and requires me to login. If I were out camping I would be dead in the water. This also means it will fail to work once their servers go offline. You don’t need auth to read me the battery status.I camp once a month and it has never stayed connected. This last time it was working fine for a few minutes and despite my phone having no internet it logged me out in the middle of using it. And, of course, I could not login since I had no internet.Do not buy. Return if you still can.Rent claims they have updated the app to not require an internet connection but this too is a lie. They require that you are logged in, and your login token can expire while you are offline which leaves you no way to use the app when off grid.

Works good
Works good. Be careful to get the right one. Some older model charge controllers only take BT-1.

The module will show but doesn’t analyze
Simple Renogy BT-2 module configuration still a bit cumbersome in the app. It doesn’t recognize its Renogy BT-2 module by scanning the bar code, but will automatically detects the module but not intelligent when there is only ONE bluetooth item and doesn’t proceed automatically. The second issue when App is launched, its not automatically connect to BT device but has to asked and confirm the device again every time user launch it. Not a smart app as it requires too many interventions from user. Once these clunkiness satisfy, it can produce realtime output volt/watt/amp/temperature of auxiliary battery, and input starting battery volt/amps which exactly what user want to see. But again, no analysis like efficiency between input and output, trouble code, diagnostic, etc presented to the user
