A really good movie with a strong moral and Christian theme. Very well done movie with a challenge for us all

War Room (2015) is well produced faith-based movie that provides insight into a struggling marriage with a wife determined resolve to look to God to rectify it. The Blu-Ray is rich in content, including deleted scenes, bloopers and featurettes. The Blu-Ray is a great addition to any movie collection. The picture and sound quality are excellent, and the extras are informative and enjoyable. The featurettes are especially enlightening, offering an in-depth look at the behind-the-scenes when writing and producing the film. The deleted scenes provide additional insight into the characters and their motivations, which makes the film even more interesting. Overall, War Room 2015 movie Blu-Ray is a great faith-based addition to any movie collection. Highly recommended.

Watched this today, as soon as it arrived. It is brilliant, and I think probably the "best" film the Kendricks have produced. Having said that, it isn't light-hearted in maybe the way that "Facing the Giants" was. It is a deeper film - not without humour, as there are some very funny lines which will not go unnoticed by husbands/wives in the way of commentary on the difference between male/female priorities and behaviour patterns! But for those who are seriously concerned - either for their own marriages/relationships, or those of loved ones dear to them - this is a definite "must see". It's a call to tackle issues at the proper level, instead of fudging out with excuses. It's not just good for married couples, but should re-awaken Christians to the potential they have in Christ for turning things around both in their families and the communities in which they live. It's a really good film, and so good to see one which doesn't include hospital scenes!! The whole family can watch this and really enjoy without anything to upset a sensitive soul. Without giving away too much of the story, the skipping display is a 'piece de resistance' and sure to enthrall! The rest of the plot is well out-lined in the promotional description, so I don't feel the need to include that in this review. Bottom line is, I intend to purchase several more copies!

A beautiful portrayal of married life, the good, the bad and the ugly, but most importantly, what to do about it when it does not go to plan. It is like spending time with a wise aunt or grandmother who tells you the truth and shows you the way. In a modern society where a marriage ends every minute, this invites one to consider a new perspective, reflecting on one's own behaviour and power to influence circumstances and life. What God can not do, does not exist, for those that may not have wise counsel, this can be a good place to start when reflecting on what marriage is and should be.

A tremendously well written and acted portrayal of the realism of struggles of daily life - the busyness that overshadows us and the vulnerability of our choices - but this is littered with fun as much as poignant messages. It’s an encapsulating film for Christians - central to the film is a deeply powerful reminder of how our Godly focus and anchored prayer life can transform lives, renew our purpose and grow relationships. No matter what films you have ever seen which you found encouraging in your Christian journey - you will probably remember this one above them all.

What it’s about: In 2000 a secular movie called American Beauty was released, it was hailed by critics as "a work of art" (as many godless and depraved secular films are) but was in fact a sneering, very morose and bleak experience that left the viewer with little hope. Well War Room is essentially the Christian version of that film; it examines a dysfunctional family that on the outside appears normal but under the surface is falling apart. However, whereas the characters in American Beauty all make the worst possible decisions and end up paying for it, war room asks the question...what might happen if people in this situation sought Jesus ? War room is about the daily spiritual battle that all Christians face. Because of man’s nature the one thing that never goes out of fashion is war and the film touches on this during its early moments, showing images of the Vietnam war. However, the daily battlefield for most people is not on some far away land but rather on their own doorstep and with their own families. The temptation to react in an angry, violent or selfish way, to view pornography or get high. To not forgive, to engage in that extra marital affair or any one of a thousand other possible temptations, this is the core dialectic that opens the film. Is it any good ? Well yes; war room shows that while pride and self centeredness are our default conditions they do not have to be our inevitable end conditions. As the tag line says prayer is power and with regular and meaningful prayer to Jesus we can transcend our daily misery. Now compare that with ‘American Beauty ‘ which was a celebration of death and dysfunction, essentially echoing the deadly ‘do what thou wilt’ ‘reject the family’ and thumb your nose at God sentiment which was the rubric of the 1960’s cultural revolution. War room is everything a good Christian film should be; the narrative is hardly elaborate but it doesn’t need to be, it makes its point effectively and beautifully and in the process helps strengthen your faith. Overall Score War room doesn’t break any new ground but what it does do very well is thumb its nose at the legions of hateful anti god, anti family, anti decency films and TV shows that have come out of the mainstream entertainment sewer pipe over the last two decades. All too often, when people leave the cinema they are left feeling demoralized, confused and depressed. This film is an antidote to the narcissism, lust and pride that is promoted in most modern entertainment and because of that it leaves the viewer feeling empowered, optimistic and encouraged and that is what good entertainment should do.

A friend introduced this video to us, without saying what it was about. It turned out to be a Christian story of a dysfunctional family whose lives were turned around by the prayers of a near-stranger. It is well told and well acted, fully convincing, and not in the least sloppy!! Thoroughly recommended.

Excellent movie. The Kendrick Brothers make good movies. This movie is not based on a true story, nor is it a characterization of true to life events. It was a clean movie meant for family audiences. The thing I got out of this movie was how to pray specifically for others and how to set up a space to prevent distractions, (easy for me to get distracted).

Could not recommend this movie more. It is awesome.
