Fortnum & Mason: Time for Tea

One of the best tea books as far as information!! I own a lot of tea books, mainly for the recipes. I bought this one for the name on the cover ( Fortnum and Mason),but never expected there to be so much information. You learn history on tea, it’s production, terroir, and recipes! I am a tea person, and if you are too, this is one book is for your book collection. The recipes are also very different from the others, more high tea recipes, less scones, more main dishes.

Perfect gift for the foodie

I love everything Fortnum and Mason. I bought this book and the Christmas one. I have already made the currant scones for high tea and it is delicious. I find the book modern, full of history in the British mode of humor, which I love. I love this book and would recommend it.

Wonderfully done. Explanations of origins of various types of tea, plus recipes, and serving and pairing suggestions broken down by time of day. The surprising inclusion of the recipe for “Spinach and tofu dumplings with shiitake bouillon” from 45 Jermyn alone this book worthwhile for me as I sit Stateside missing London. There are items that no doubt could have been included but are already in Mr. Parker Bowles’s F&M The Cook Book or the Christmas recipe book. The only item I had truly hoped to see but is missing is a recipe for the poppyseed bread served in the tea salon—unlike American versions, it isn’t sweet or crumbly.

Food and beverage pairing should be much better understood than it currently is. The author and contributors of this book have obviously spent a lot of time thinking about this topic already with incredibly sophisticated and insightful ideas. For every foodie, this book is a must-have.

My adult daughter loved this gift. Afternoon English tea time has always been a favorite of ours. So this charming, delightful book made a great addition to her collection.

Molto interessante, presentazione della storia del tè curata ma non pedante, anzi piena di humor e vignette molto British, belle illustrazioni. Al mio attivo solo una ricetta per ora e venuta alla perfezione. Secondo me fantastico per un regalo perché è un libro elegante.
