However, if you are buying this as a replacement because you broke the switch on the one you have, you should probably order 2 or 3 more. If you use it as much as I do the little switch gets worn out and if a few bits of debris get stuck as you close it, it is likely to break again so you might as well have a few more on hand as backup, or learn how to crimp your hose really really well on fill-ups...

Plastic water valve for Python.
This connector is all plastic. Despite that, it holds up pretty good when installed on a Python or similar aquarium hose system. You can also use these to turn on or off the current from a garden hose too. If you have high water pressure, you might wear this valve out faster. Its purpose is to provide a water valve close to where you are holding the hose or siphon. It allows quick shutoff of water without having to run back to the facet to do so. It also allows you to slowly turn on water pressure without the bang or pop spurt you get when first turning on water pressure. It also allows you to continously control the speed and current of the water flow. It can control the flow both ways through the valve. This can be used on the Python hose or any standard hose that uses garden hose sized connectors. Its male on one end and female on the other. Ive used these Pyrhon valves and hose adapters to set up filter devices that don't have valves on several devices. I dont recall ever having one leak or fail to open or close. If you overtighten the connectors, you could crack the plastic. Inexpensive and easy to install and use.

Best in class quality
These things do work! The quality is best in class and you can mix and match these parts to create necessary equipment. I used python to make separate fil and pump-out hoses. This flow valve is used to cut off the flow from the pump out hose to stop the suction.

Perfect replacement
Perfect replacement for the stock valve on the Python, but that is to be expected. The valves themselves periodically give out, although I have only gone through two valves in several years. They have good quality, they just wear over time, which is to be expected. I appreciate that Python sells the valve separately so I don't have to buy a whole new system just for the valve. Would recommend if you need a replacement valve. Be sure not to leave the valve closed under prolonged pressure as this can cause them to fail prematurely.

Replacement Part works as well as original
I have four tanks and after a bit over a year of use this switch failed on my Python Water Changer. Replacing this part was easy and far more cheaper than purchasing an entire new Python Water Changer. The Changer is great - can't live without it!

Plastic Overpriced Junk.
I have ordered 3 of these in a years time, and all 3 broke in the same exact spot (the valve). These are junk. These are just overpriced hose valve shut-offs. The 2 green ones in the picture were $1 from DG. They are IDENTICAL to these. The metal one is a little more heavy duty. I paid $9 for it at Home Depot. Go buy one of these or something similar.

Fixed my python right up. Had my python 3 years and it's the second time I have had to replace it. Cheap to fix though.

I like this piece just fine, but my issue is that I NEED this piece for the whole unit to work, but I should not have had to buy this piece within 1 year of purchase of the whole python package. The only good thing I can say about this whole experience is that I WAS able to buy the piece I needed instead of buying the whole package in full again. I guess others have complained as well...I WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW LONG THIS PIECE WILL LAST, WHEN IT BREAKS AGAIN...

Long story short, I had a dumb roommate for a month that managed to lose two pieces off of my python. So, I naturally started stressing because replacement parts are usually quite expensive. But; I was pleasantly surprised to find a good price for both the connector and pressure gauge. These parts are just as described, they fit perfectly and are in brand new condition. I am a happy customer, and will be continuing to recommend Pythons to every aquarium over I know. Lol.
