Very Mixed Feelings About This Book
I have to admit, I have very mixed feelings about this book. As the 'victim' of badly prescribed Rx pills, I agree with Mr. Trudeau that our (American) society is way over-medicated, that doctors too frequently fall back upon writing an Rx and nothign else, and that if doctors can't medicate it they pretend it does not exist. So I am with him all the way on his beefs against the FDA and "Big Pharma" as he, myself and 'drug victims' tend to put it. If you have not been misdiagnosed or over-prescribed and left with lasting health anomalies and disorders as a result, then you may not feel where I'm coming from on that one. But think about it. His statistics regarding the number of injuries and deaths from Rx pills (which are supposed to HELP), are from credited sources and are trustworthy. For instance, most Drs do not even know what Cytochrome P450 is - yet people who have too little or too much of it (liver enzyme) will metabolise drugs using that enzyme (most Rx pills do), very differently from the norm. Rx are written 'one Rx fits all' which is clearly unscientific, but, expedient and cheaper both time and money-wise for doctors writing them. In my case, I was deficient in this enzyme and so, the pills Rx me built up to toxic levels quickly. I got no benefits and most of the listed side effects - some lasting and all devastating.Ok - all that said - this book itself, aside from educating people who believe Doctors can do no wrong, that there IS another way - does not lend a whole lot of hard and fast information. It keeps referring you to his website, where you learn you have to pay $10 a month to join and know more. That was disappointing, since he keeps saying he's not in this for the money. Much of what is in his book can be found on the internet. I have mixed feelings about this - on hte one hand if you're good at looking things up, you may not need this compendium. If not, or if you are unable time or energy wise to do so, or don't have the internet (there are still some out there!), then it may be worth the book price.Mostly, the information gleaned is in a table of approx. 50 disorders, with a home remedy for each. However it's a bit vague and some have more than one treatment listed. Also some of the remedies suggested in an earlier chapter for overall health, such as an infrared sauna, may not be available in everyone's town. I doubt many people have even heard of 'reiki' for instance. This is an 'energy balancing' method, someone waves their hands over you slowly; I have tried it and can attest that short term it did seem to help circulation etc. Also that an uncanny warmth came from the person's bare hands, although they did not touch me and held nothing in their hands. So, some of these methods may well help people - after all, it's what prior civilisations used when they did not have labs and so forth. Some nations still use things like aruvedic medicine (herbs etc.) and acupuncture primarily and their citizens live as long or longer as Americans do. So it's not that this is junk science necessarily. However for the average reader, hoping to come away with a 1 2 3 formula, they may be disappointed. I do still plan on sending out copies of this to a few famliy members who feel conflicted regarding being dosed up by their doctors. What he says about drug companies giving lavish gifts to 'encourage' doctors to Rx their pills, is true and SHOULD BE OUTLAWED in my opinion. It is also true that he mentions Scientology and/or dianetics a few times at least - although those paragraphs are isolated (i.e. most of the book is not touting it) and that he is against psychiatry outright. I do believe that *sometimes* there is a metabolic problem which causes psychological side effects (bipolar seems connected to blood sugar levels, in my own observation - for example) and which Rx pills mysteriously abate symptoms of. So I don't agree with the across the board banning of such. However, his point that we as a society have become over medicated and under educated about health is right to the point. So I have mixed feelings about this book - I feel he withheld a bit on helpful info - but his opinion is one that needs to be heard. So many Rx are needless and actually damaging (in my opinion). See [...] for more info there. And reforms with the FDA and Big Pharma may be well overdue.

This is Very Important!
In college (dental) we were required to read studies on different medications, toothpastes, mouthwashes, fluoride, etc. I always found contradicting studies. I quit reading studies shortly after because I felt I was being lied to. I know the pharmaceutical companies conduct these studies to get results which lead people away from natural health and redirects them to buy drugs (profits for them!). The pharmaceutical companies, the FTC, FDA, Oil Companies, and other elites only care about making money and they WILL DO ANYTHING to make it. Please don't keep your eyes shut about this. This is why Americans are seen as fat, lazy and dumb. The elites are poisoning society. If you start to educate yourself about this, you will start to see it more and more. For example fluoride is in toothpastes, mouthwashes, city water and given to children at every dental visit. Did you know that fluoride is nuclear waste? If you go to China, it is sold as a pesticide. Google it if you don't believe me.ABOUT THE BOOK: You will be educated about what really goes on with the pharmaceutical companies, FTC, FDA, etc. He tells you that if you have a disease, such as diabetes, acid reflux, or others, that you did not catch this disease; your body formed it and it can fix it without drugs. He gives some specific remedies for ailments but don't expect to look up something and find a cure. That is not what this book is about. He gives a lot of info for you to start cleaning out your body of chemicals and toxins which is the cause of all ailments.Example: If you get acid reflux and want to get off of prilosec, simply take apple cider vinegar and use something like alkafiz to regulate your body pH. He will tell you what to do but you have to find the place to buy the products. For my patients, I recommend Swansonsvitamins.com to buy apple vinegar and Alkafiz. He will tell you that if you have cancer you should make your body pH basic and find a doctor that will increase you oxygen in the body because cancer and viruses cannot live in a highly oxygenated and basic body. He will suggest multiple things to eliminate cancer. You must try them all because no one knows what will work on you, not even a doctor. He encourages you to sign up on his web page where they will help you with this. He says he gives recommendations for products but does not sell the products that he recommends. I have not signed up for this so I cannot tell you how well it works. Remember ailments and diseases are usually the result of multiple problems in the body. So doing just one thing will not fix your body. Lastly, If you are skeptical, Google Naomi Judd and Hepatitis C. Naomi Judd retired her singing career in 1991 because of this deadly virus. Doctors will tell you that Hepatitis C is not curable. Naomi will tell you otherwise. She has been Hep C free since 1995.If you are looking to buy this book, most likely you have some type of ailment. Understand that you can be healed naturally. But you must put in the effort to cleanse your body and stay free of the lies and deception that is given by the pharmaceutical companies. Don't get overwhelmed with everything listed. Start slow and make changes gradually. Good luck.

Don't bother
Nothing new in this book, we already know that big business and corporations are in for money only, this include pharmaceuticals, food industry etc... but if you don't then worth a read alright... otherwise, i would rename it: Natural cures "the author" does not want you to know about unless you pay $90 to subscribe to his website.Save yourself the expense of the book... you won't find any natural cures recipes in it. Get the book can we live 150 years from Tombak instead.

A long read...
What a shame that Kevin's ego got in the way of the book. I have tried not to let my thoughts on Kevin influence my judgement of the book. For the most part I believe that much of what is in the book is correct; whether that be health issues or interference/control by overly powerful representatives of agents unknown. He stayed true to his word insofar as he did indeed repeat himself in the book. Maybe he was trying to 'bulk' out the book; if that was his intention then he certainly achieved his aim. At times I wondered if my patience would last to the end of the book. He said that he repeats himself in order to get his point across; I find that a rather shallow explanation, after all do many of us not shut off mentally when someone constantly berates us, for example? Now, as I believe I have intimated, I am a believer of the subject matter but that is not because I have read this book, for it is clear that Kevin knows how to talk without saying anything specific. He suggests that much of what he didn't say was due to restrictions placed upon him by such likes as the FTC. I am not convinced on that point. There are countless other brave people expressing themselves far more liberally on the Internet - albeit, expressing themselves with the rider of 'not being a doctor, not attempting to cure etc..'. In addition, although a self proclaimed believer, I would still say that many people in the alternative field make outrageous claims without a shred of real proof. When I have researched claims made by many of those in the alternative field, their proof is often very subjective; I mean, I can look at what I perceive to be an attractive woman - and that makes me feel good for an hour, temporarily not being 'conscious' of my pains, smile - but it doesn't prove that my arthritis has actually disappeared."I'm as mad as hell, I'm not going to take it anymore" said the actor Peter Finch in the film 'Network'. That's how I felt about this book after seeing Kevin say that an innumerable amount of times throughout this tome.

Great book
Excellent book. Very informative. For those of you who wish to lose weight but can't read This! I bought the mass paperback version years ago and it was quite a chore to read because of the fine print and it virtually fell Apart! I wanted a hard back for my collection. As a result of this book I stopped going to steam and saunas stopped eating certain foods (but now I do due to poor will Power!) started taking certain supplements bought a rebounder and air purifier and other things. A lot of things i already knew, but this book reinforced my knowledge and prompted me to take more and further action. This book gives clear insight into big pharma and just how corrupt they are.If you b want to make changes to your lifestyle and increase your knowledge on health buy this book, you won't regret It!If you are serious about making changes in your life

What I found out in this book was just shocking and amazing. Both my dad and his wife read this ...
This book has so much information. My Dad got cancer and I decided to buy this book. What I found out in this book was just shocking and amazing. I also gave this book to my family to read and they also found it really great and helpful to read. You do need allot of time for this book and quiet time as there is So much information in just one page. It is a really thick book as well, but I could not put it down until I absorbed absolutely everything. Great knowledge in this book.
