Very impressive for the price
I use this set for elements of iconography paintings. I am very impressed with the quality and accuracy for the price. In my opinion this set is well worth the price. I asked my husband, who is an engineer, what his opinion was of this set and he agreed with my assessment.

Works Well
The device does what I need it to do. I was able to use my own pen by using the attachment that it came with. No need to buy the special ink that they recommend. However, I might look into it in the future.

What am I missing that the other reviewers seem not to mind?
The smaller compass works fine, but the larger one is useless- the hinged legs do not stay put, and flop all over either throwing off your center pin alignment or drawing all over the paper. I think the company added the hinged legs because they look cool, but forgot to include any way of tensioning them so you don't mess up your drawing. Useless, do not buy!

Good For Paper or Wood
I got this to draw circles on cymbals to cut them smaller to get rid of cracks. These are fine on paper if you clamp them down. The legs can bend in other directions while you spin the compass if you do not clamp them down. I'm not sure if I was missing some of the screws because I only have enough to clamp down one compass or the other, but not both. It's nice that it comes with extra metal heads and lead. I'm sure I'll use it for some craft that I need to draw circles for, I just wasn't able to get a consistent circle on an irregular surface. Maybe if it were a little more sturdy it would have. They tried to make it so it could be used in many different types of situations, but that caused it to be less sturdy because the legs can wobble while moving if not really tightened down.

It is Not K&E Quality. You get What You Pay for
Not professional quality, but what can one expect when there are no professional analog drafters and most stuff comes from the PRC? The parts work well enough for general use, but do not have the weight nor precise rigidity that someone who used this type of equipment professionally would expect.

Looks professional
Purchased as a gift. Have not received any complaints on the operation yet. I’ll let you know if I have any. To me it sounds like a good product I purchased.

doesnt lock, pieces fall off easily
well. it does technically work. so star for that. otherwise, its pretty cheap. the larger compass does not hold its angle at all, it can easily be pushed open or closed without using the turn-knob so therefore it doesnt hold in the correct angle while using. the smaller one is a bit better at maintaining its angle, but after a few weeks the parts started falling off - the little knobs that hold everything together. I haven't used the extension part so I can't comment on that, but since the large doesnt hold its shape anyways... I probably wont attempt to. I am too late for the return window. but if I could I would return it, and get a more professional one instead. this one kinda looked more professional than others, and it was more expensive so I thought it was maybe a step up, but I'm thinking its not.

Great quality for teenagers
I bought this for my son for his 8th grade math. It has everything he needs for this year and extra pieces that will carry him through high school. All of the pieces are sturdy and well made.
