100 Round Flip-Top Ammo Box 38/357 Cal (Clear Blue)

The perfect box for my 357 and 38 special. The days of carrying my rounds in there flimsy cardboard box are over. These are very sturdy and the latch holds very tight. They also come with a very nice label set as well as a card for those who reload and want to write down the specifics of their loads. Great item and fits all my needs

This review is for MTM 38/357 Cal 100 Round Flip-Top Ammo Box in Transparent Blue (ASIN: B000PW8CS0). I have had really good luck with MTM products, so they are one of my main brands I go to. I needed something to carry loose rounds in for when I don't want to take a large box/bucket or use a bag. The plastic is better on this than I thought it would be. It's not flimsy. There is actually a real, full-length, hinge. The photo in the listing just shows a plastic molded flap. So, the case I received is definitely better than what they show. Also, the latch is pretty good. It's a fairly solid click, and there are two additional non-locking tabs to help keep the lid closed. There is a tiny amount of play with the closed lid. This case will protect against rain, but it won't keep water out if submerged. I like the section of smooth front that you can attach a label too or use a marker to write on. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this case holds a lot more ammo sizes than just the .38 Special & .357 Magnum that it was listed for. On the back of the case it lists that it fits the following sizes: 38 Special, 357 Magnum, 32 WCF, 5.7x28 FN, 38 S&W, 30 Mauser, 32 H&H Mag., 327 Fed. Mag., 35 Win. S.L., 38 Auto Colt, 38 Super, 9x28 Win., 7.62x25 Tok. Max. AOL = 1.68". Made in USA. Supposedly they offer this case in a transparent smoke grey, which I would have preferred, but it wasn't available. Speaking of transparent, I really like being able to see what I have in the case without having to open it. So, overall, I am super pleased. I received something that was even better than what I thought I ordered.

MTM products are always top quality. They arrived loosely packaged in a plastic bag rather than tightly packed in a box(Amazon). This resulted in the cases being marked up from bouncing off each other. They were destined to become that way anyhow but there is joy in the shine of a new product. Some pride in delivery should be a thing.

This review is for the reloaders out there so you’re aware that if you’re loading long you can only fill these boxes about half full. 357 magnum cast bullets loaded to 1.733 COL the box will close on about half full. If you fill it full the box won’t close. Otherwise great boxes for pistol rounds.

MTM ammo boxes are the only ones I will ever buy. I’ve never had a bad one or an issue with any, and I have a lot of them in various sizes. Also love the MTM ammo crates. Perfect for lots of things besides ammo

Strongly built and doesnt flex, I added some thin adhesive backed foam to the inside of the lid and it doesn't rattle when full.
