The product arrived separated. On first squeeze all bluish watery fluid squirted out. After following another customer’s suggestion and placed the tube in very hot (almost boiling) water for about 15 minutes. After that, I gently kneaded the tube and let it sit for another five minutes. Voilà! It transformed into the perfect creamy texture. I applied it to my extremely sensitive, chemically burned skin, and it felt wonderful. I’ve tried so many other products that only added more pain on top of pain, but this one was finally soothing and comfortable to use. 🩵

It works!!! I am a Tazarotene user and my skin is beyond irritated and dry at times. Ive tried so many different products to counter Tazarotene's side effects but everything is kinda meh. Avène Cicalfate gave my skin an immediate relief from the itching sensation. I used it as a night mark and skin barrier visibly looked better the next day. I'm taking one star away because as others say, the product arrived seperated. I wasn't aware of the issue so when I opened the tube, the water started pouring out. This is resolved by leaving the closed tube in some hot water for 15 minutes. I'd do that before I open a new tube. Overall, despite the separation issue, the product still works, it has no scent, it seems high quality, and I would likely repurchase if my skin likes it in the long run.

consistency is very wet when i got it. i had to mix it for about 10 min to get the consistency thick again. quality and skin softness is a 10. hydrated my eczema as well no irritation. not sticky good quality and really helps with stretch marks.

I saw the reviews referencing the separation, so I was skeptical but I’ve heard so many great things about this cream so I decided to try it anyways. This cream has changed my skin entirely. I have used it on my face every night, on my baby, on my hands, etc and it has taken care of the dry skin I have been experiencing this winter. I even started mixing it with my RetinA to lessen the flaking I get from it and it worked wonderfully. My tube had a little water, but I just massaged it in my hands for a minute and it took care of the separation immediately. Don’t hesitate! This is the real deal!

I read all the reviews and saw multiple people complaining about this product being separated and unusable when they received it. I also saw one review from a woman who solved the issue by heating the product in warm water and then massaging the tube to get the contents to come back together. So when I received this product myself, the first thing I did was shake the tube before opening it, and sure enough, I heard what sounded like mostly water sloshing around. I tried shaking and massaging the tube for a few minutes listening for the consistency to change but it didn't. So, like the previous reviewer, I poured a cup of the hottest water my tap would produce and let the tube sit in it for a few minutes. Then I took the tube out and shook it like heck. This time I could clearly hear the consistency changing to sound more like a cream than water. Just to be thorough, I put the tube back in the hot water for a few minutes and then repeated the shaking. Once I was satisfied that I had done my best, I opened it. I am pleased to say the product is fine! I have to say, I understand many reviewers complaining about this problem, and that not many people want to take on the added step of repeating part of the manufacturing process at home just to be able to use a product that they paid for! However, I have to stand on the side of this Brand. The material separating inside the tube is probably because there isn't a bunch of added filler/binding agents/additives/general CRAP ingredients to hold it all together and stabilize it. If there was, sure the product stays together, but now you are putting that CRAP on your face, and the true value of this product goes down the drain. It becomes just like all the other junk that you can buy at a discount drug store. I knew this was an excellent product because my aesthetician gave me a free sample of it when I was suffering through the "purging phase" of tretinoin cream. (Intensely dry, flaky, chapped, cracking and peeling skin all over my face and neck, in the winter, in Chicago. Ouch!) This product made a big difference with only a couple of applications from a sample size, so I was willing to take a chance and purchase this product, knowing I might have to manually manipulate it to get the benefits. I'm glad I did, and I honestly hope Avene doesn't change a thing in their formulation and they keep producing products just like this- no CRAP, and all benefits.

I was having the worst skin winter of my life. I am hypersensitive and my skin started rejecting an expensive line I had used for many years (EL). My skin wasn’t healing even just using AQ balm on it and occasionally steroids when it was extra bad, and the pronounced eczema on my eyelids and neck for months was making me miserable and gross looking. I started researching brands I hadn’t tried for super sensitive skin and saw recommendations for Avene. We were leaving on a vacation and I was desperate to feel better so I ordered this and the matching serum. I started with only this cream and overnight I saw my skin start to heal. Within a few days it was like the last few months never happened. I carefully added the serum and had no issues. I used only these two products for the month I was gone and had glowing skin the whole time. This is thicker than a normal lotion since it is made to protect your skin but if you let it warm up a few seconds it smoothes easily. This will definitely remain a staple in my skin arsenal and I can’t thank you enough for making an actually gentle but effective product! El aspecto de mi piel ha mejorado mucho desde que empecé a usarla, yo regularmente la utilizo por las noches con una pequeña cantidad es mas que suficiente. mi piel es grasosa y apesar de eso la crema tiene una perfecta absorcion al otro dia amaneces como radiante tambien se las recomiendo mucho para la rozadura de pañal le quita el dolor casi inmediatamente.

I have bought this product endless amount of times. With super sensitive skin it is one of the only creams that doesn’t irritate and creates a great barrier against drying out. It is affordable and keeps my skin hydrated for hours. Have recommended this product to so many friends with other skin problems. Keep in mind it’s a thicker consistency but I love that as I feel like it lasts longer through out the day.

La consistenza è ricca ma non eccessivamente pesante, si assorbe abbastanza bene e dà comfort immediato, soprattutto su zone secche, arrossate o irritate. Adatta anche su pelli molto delicate e sensibili come la mia. L ho usata sia in seguito ad alterazioni della normale barriera cutanea e dopo una brutta allergia in cui mi ero riempita di puntini rossi. Ha un ottima azione lenitiva che si sente già nei primi giorni di utilizzo. Non la consiglio alle pelle troppo grasse perché è un po’ pesante.
