Crimson Spell, Vol. 2 (2)

I truly enjoyed the fantasy world Yamane created in  The Crimson Spell, Vol. 1 , and this excellent sequel expands that world, and the characters. The story begins right where volume 1 left off. The plot advances as Havi realizes the magician behind the curse may still be alive and needs to be confronted. Crimson Spell has a disinctly "Dungeons & Dragons" feel to it as they travel the land searching for answers and have adevntures along the way: fighting demons to protect a village, getting robbed by a wanderer they stop to help, etc. There is a lot of action, including violent sword fighting & magical duels, in the book. Havi and Vald's relationship also gets a jolt when Havi kisses Vald when he's not in demon form and Vald rebuffs him and runs off confused. He still doesn't know what he does with Havi when he's the demon (oh, and there are more than a couple smoking hot scenes of that!) Then, Havi is kidnapped by the villain...Overall, this is an engrossing series. It's so sad that it is no longer in print in English. I truly hope with the popularity of Finder, Crimson Spell will be picked up for a new license. I'd love to read volumes 3 and 4. Highly recommended - if you can find a copy.

I couldn't find volume 2 in physical form after reading the first book so grabbing the Kindle version was the way to go. Vald and Havi are still on their journey until Havi gets captured and made to forget Havi but can he truly forget?

This book has everything you could want in a yaoi manga. There are smoking hot guys (Havi is downright delicious) and blistering sex, but there's so much more. There is depth to the fantasy plotline, and a genuine sweetness to the story. You really find yourself rooting for Vald and Havi, and you just know that once they're together again everything will turn out alright. I won't reveal anything that will ruin it for you; it's much better to discover it on your own! If you are a fan of yaoi, like I am, then you will love this book. I own the first and second volumes, and both are superb. There isn't as much sex in the second volume; it's more devoted to developing the story. Vald and Havi are also separated for a good chunk of volume two, which also cuts down on the intimacy a little. Not to worry though, you get your fix before volume two ends. :)

If you like yaoi love stories, fantasy novels, and are ok with viewing love/sex scenes, I highly recommend this series! And I would also recommend another of her works (which is not a fantasy novel), the "Viewfinder" series. Your find it referred to by various names, I call it by the name of the first volume, "Target in the Viewfinder." Now, about my book...The book condition was EXCELLENT and crisp. While I lovemy Kindle, and originally wanted this as an ebook, there are times when nothing beats the sensation of holding a book in your hand and immersing yourself in a good story. Thank you Amazon and Ayano Yamane for an enjoyable experience.

I’m surprised by it, but enjoying it. This series is turning out to be much better done than I thought it would be.First, I love the attraction between Havi and Vald. It’s intense. And very smutty. And I love the smut, I must admit. (It also includes some tentacle-like things, once both in this volume and the first one. It was a surprise, and a little intense, but also a little humorous when the author mentions it in her notes.) But I’m just plain enjoying seeing their attraction build, Vald being confused and conflicted, and Havi feeling a little possessive.I like both of them on their own, too. Havi is fun, and is given most comedic opportunities, which I like. Vald is a good guy, very sweet, and I’m looking forward to seeing his feelings for Havi really develop.The plot took some surprising turns in this volume, including some kidnappings. Vald got to take advantage of his curse, though, and that should lead to some good things. I’m not going to spoil any of who’s behind it, also because we’re just starting to get a glimpse of it. I’m intrigued to see where it all leads next.I’m surprised by how much I’m enjoying this series, but I really am. I will be reading the next volume soon, and kind of dread the long waiting period that is to come.

I already had the first volume, had gotten that one with a DVD from Sam Goody while the store was still open here( it's not anymore. I wanted to see the further adventures of Havi and Vlad. Both really HOT guys and read what they were up to again. The art work is great, so is the cover art. I'm looking forward to the next one. It's easy to see why Havi has it sooo bad for Vlad (he rocks), must be those sweet fangs and great bod to boot. Love the Vampire. ;*

absolutely love this series! some purchasers have complained that the text is incorrect in their volumes.. (Bald instead of Vald).. but my volume used 'Vald' so I was happy ^_^ one of my favorite yaoi series after The Tyrant Falls In Love .. would definitely recommend this one, especially if you're tired of the typical yaoi romances and typical day to day life. Fantasy + yaoi is the perfect match.

This was a surprise! As a fan of the first volume and of the now out of print Finder series, I found the twist in this manga irresistible. Again, fantastic artwork with great detail. Really gorgeous images on every page. I don't think this woman can draw an ugly man, much to our benefit! Even the monsters have a perfect monster form. I'm not disappointed by my purchase, and if you liked the first edition, you'll enjoy this one as well.
