When creating leaded glass, cementing your panel is a vital step in the completion process. Whiting Powder helps to set up the putty and also cleans up excess cement in one easy step. 1-1/2 lbs container. Should be used in conjunction with black cement, #5539. Review: Good choice - It works extremely well. It goes a long way. I bought two as I had a lot of very old windows to do for a greenhouse I’m building. I didn’t even use all the first one. Review: Classic methods. Great for historical window rehab . - The best stuff. The old way !

Dont skip the powder
The videos I watched show powder applied to windows laying flat. I wasn’t not going to attempt this. If you take a thick dry paint brush and carefully dab it into the powder you can transfer it to the freshly glazed window. Worked good with little waste. I’d buy it again but hopefully won’t need to.

Be like an old window glazing pro from 100 years ago. Sarco putty and this whiting!
The perfect compliment to Sarco window glazing putty for the restoration of old wood windows. The whiting is used to polish the linseed oil off the glass right up to the putty/glass line immediately after glazing. Use an old soft paintbrush loaded with some whiting held at a 45 to the glass and brush it about and parallel with the putty. The whiting puts a skin on the putty kind of like flour does to dough so the fresh putty doesn't get damaged. If it does get a ding, it's easy to smooth it back over with your finger. Leaves the glass sparkling clean ready for paint. The whiting also speeds up the putty skinning process so you're painting in a week or so as opposed to a few weeks letting it skin on its own..... or possibly never if you use DAP33!

Whiting powder Yahoo!
Use it to clean after puttying stained glass. After reading reviews may use it for other things. Delphi always sends the correct order and it’s always quality stuff. I don’t usually go through the Delphi website though as their shipping costs usually double the amount of the order.
