Can't go wrong with this little workhorse! Great for small jobs and nice thoughtful features.
I'm diggin my new mixer. I gave my little 5 speed hand mixer to my son who just got his own place. I had that for 30+ years and it is still looking new and going strong. For a lot of things, you just can't beat Kitchen Aid! Since I went over to his house and it is sitting in a cabinet above the refrigerator (what was I expecting??) I was going to see if he wanted me to keep it here for him (wink), but decided to just get myself another one. I got this candy apple red 9 speed- it doesn't really match anything else in the kitchen but it was too cute and won't be on the counter anyway. I'm also getting away from trying to have everything match an aesthetic. Just getting what I like these days becuase, well, life it short and I want things that make me smile. OK, on to the real review. This little machine has some killer features. I really appreciate the extra tools including the small blender rod and the dough hooks for smaller jobs - I wish the blender rod was also all stainless but this may be designed this way for a reason with plastic, not sure. I have a stand tilt head mixer but sometimes for a small job, this gets it done with less fuss. Other thoughtful features, the lowest speed is LOW and SLOW, so you can start it very slow and not have flour go flying everywhere - that is bomb. I also appreciate the storage bag for the tools, the pivoting cord (you can stand the mixer up and pivot the cord to any side to orient it to where your plug is), and the cord has a silicone wrap. This is easier to store than my older one, looks adorable and feels very sturdy. It is a little bit heavier than my old mixer(not much) but thought I'd mention that in case dexterity/mobility is an issue for some. This may be due to the heavier motor with more speeds.Overall a great purchase. It did come with a tiny imperfection in the silver band around the unit. I just kept running my thumb over it and magically it smoothed out. I am one of those people who'd rather stick a needle in my eye than do a return, so glad this worked. One of the little beaters was a little sticky ejecting the first few times. Just did it a few more times and it self corrected. Cool this is US made in their Ohio factory. Always an added bonus. Thanks again Kitchen Aid -

Great hand mixer!
Ok, I learned my lesson with buying the cheap stuff. Mixer I had didn't even last a year and made a grinding noise the last time I used it, which was only like the 6th time. I'm spending more with this mixer, but I'm getting quality from a well known brand backed by a history of good products. This brand is competitively priced, and good quality! I really like the weight, and the feel of the handle of this device, it's comfortable to use. I appreciate the value of the extra attachments it comes with. I love the speeds and power this has, making mixing much easier! The attachments are dishwasher safe, and easy to store. It's an amazing product!!

I was really impressed
I was really impressed. I had one of the old one. I finally decided to upgrade. I’m really glad I did! This blender is quiet and I love how you can set all speeds. I recommend this blender.

Happy Mother's Day to me!!!
My over 50 year old KitchenAid hand mixer died and I didn't give it a second thought to buy another. I have a KitchenAid stand mixer too which I use for larger baking projects. I decided to get the 9 speed hand mixer for the many attachments that were included and choice of speeds. I used it today for the first time to make cream cheese frosting. It was quiet, powerful and a pleasure to use.

Very nice!
This is a very nice mixer and very quiet too. It is so quiet you question weather it is going very fast. But it does go fast enough to get your egg whites to a stiff peak very quickly. The dough hook works great for a very wet focaccia or ciabatta dough. Really like how the cord is on a swivel.

Has a genuine slow start at the lowest setting to prevent splatter
I haven't used this mixer yet but I can confirm it has a genuine slow start at the lowest setting which should prevent the splattering that is typical of so many other models I reviewed before buying this one. I did not have any trouble whatsoever using the up & down arrows to change speed. I will say that getting the beaters & other attachments to go into the ports and securely click into place is a challenge, though. I carefully lined them up and still had to be forceful to "seat" them. Also hoping it won't be too under-powered at low settings. I don't care about brand names but did appreciate this is a U.S. company. I'm hoping this mixer will outlast me, but we'll see!
