Yawn
I thought this book was very cute, but it ultimately missed the mark. This is the story of Lisi of the NBK status (Never Been Kissed). She has a huge crush of a popular senior. He is an obsession she has harbored throughout high school, and she is determined to have something happen with him now that he has apparently broken up with his girlfriend and before he goes away to college. Meanwhile Lisi's group of friends seems to be breaking apart, and she can't figure out how to fix things.I felt like the romantic elements of this book were far too underdeveloped. I was also annoyed by all the acronyms and "teen-speak" sayings that were thrown in randomly and didn't match the overall voice or tine of the book at all. Lisi was a very sympathetic character for me because I was just like her in high school. I think she represents a piece of all of us, but sometimes the way she acted in this book had me really angry. The heart-felt speech she gives at the end of the book had me rolling my eyes. I think this was cute, but you can do better with something else. I recommend Stephie Davis for a cute light read that has more flow and more romantic emphasis.

Lisi is an NBK - she's never been kissed. Lisi would really like to be kissed by her crush, Brett, who also happens to be the most popular guy in school. She doesn't think her chances are very high, since Lisi in not in the "in" crowd.Springtime at Northside High means planning for the famous Spring Carnival. Spring Carnival is a huge deal, and this year the stakes are high for having the winning booth. Whichever booth sells the most tickets wins a trip to New York City. When planning for the school's Spring Carnival starts, Lisi gets the inspiration for a kissing booth. Lisi is secretly hoping she will finally get her first kiss from handsome Brett, but Lisi's not the only one with secrets. After the popular fly girls make the Kissing Booth their main target for competition, rumors start to fly and the kissing booth crew just might have gotten themselves in too deep. And Lisi just might be falling for the wrong guy.I'm a sucker for romances, and I couldn't resist the adorable red and white cover for this one! I loved the idea of an old-fashioned kissing booth and wished I could go to the Spring Carnival with Lisi and her friends. Even though the story is mainly a romance, there's also a sub-plot on friends growing up and growing apart that I thought added some depth to the story.KISSING BOOTH felt like it could have been a script for a great romantic comedy, and was a perfect feel-good book that left me smiling. A must-read for fans of romance!Reviewed by: Sarah Bean the Green Bean Teen Queen

Monotonously predictable
I normally love romance books, but this book was painful to read. Each character's personality was incredibly shallow; you can tell which character has blah tendencies but I didn't feel it. The plot was horridly predictable though normally this would be okay in some romance novels because of great characters and description. None of these were in this book. Not only did I guess the ending halfway through the book, it seemed to have fluffy fillers that didn't add much to the text. When trouble strikes (in the book), you KNOW its happening but I can not empathize with the character because there was basically NO elaboration, not on the setting, the characters, the conflict, etc.I would strongly recommend AGAINST this book, that is, unless this book was aimed at elementary school kids...then, perhaps they won't mind the lack of detail. Poor read.

Teen romance.
This was a cute romantic comedy book that's perfect for the younger teen audience. I enjoyed it even though I'm no longer a teen. I'm looking forward to reading more books from Lexie Hill in the future.
