Great surface to start and hold your 3D prints
I have had this build plate for 3 years and it has performed better than expected. Prints adhere well to the plate with little to no fuss (as long as I keep it relatively clean). The plate was starting to get a build up of lines from previous prints that wouldn't come of with a normal wash. This was leaving a pattern on prints that was starting to be an issue. So I heated it up on the printer (to 70c) and gently used the metal putty knife that came with the Ender to clean the surface, then washed it. It looks almost new now. I was thinking about ordering a new on, but do see a need now.

Still amazing after about 4 years
[Updated review after about 4 years of use. Note, I bought only the smooth PEI sheet version].This is my ONLY print bed for my Ender 3 clone, and it's still amazing after about 4 years. I've been cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol and/or dish soap every 3 to 6 months, followed by about 3 coatings of Aqua Net extra super hold hairspray. PLA prints adhere so well that I can use large printed objects as a handle to LIFT THE ENTIRE PRINTER. Even so, it's still relatively easy to remove prints by flexing the bed, although sometimes a plastic scraper is needed for small printed parts. I've also printed numerous parts in TPU and PETG with no troubles. That's likely in part due to the hairspray, which actually helps prevent over-adhesion. Otherwise, both of those materials can adhere so hard that they damage the PEI surface. This is a well-known issue with those materials and is not the fault of the manufacturer.[Original review:]The smooth PEI finish really gives a nice texture to the bottoms of my prints. Installation was easy, and it's been a real game changer for me. The magnetic sheet holds the flex plate in place strongly. I used 00 steel wool and isopropyl alcohol on the PEI sheet prior to the first use to prepare it, and I sometimes apply a light coat of hairspray (about once every two months or so) to help with adhesion. TPU, PETG, and PLA adhere quite well, but not too well (I haven't tried other types of materials). I know it sounds cliche, but my only regret is that I didn't get this sooner.Note, I only heat the build plate to 80 degrees max, so I don't know how it behaves above that temperature.

Perfectly smooth 1st layer! Best bed for the best price!
Perfectly smooth as glass 1st layer! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Sticks really well when hot. It's A LOT easier to detach finished prints off this golden PEI bed than Creality's official glass bed.(Boy... That Creality glass bed was nearly impossible to get my prints removed. It was a nightmare, the glass bed also left some tiny bumps on the prints.)This golden PEI bed is perfectly smooth. When the print is done, simply remove the bed from the printer and run cold tap water on top of the entire bed and print for a few seconds. Voila - prints come right off with very little effort. Leaving no score marks on the bed.I run it at 60 degrees Celsius and I've seen no bubbling on the surface of this golden PEI coated bed.I've tested 4 different beds and this one is by far *The Best*.Buy it!Thank me later.4 Photos (first printed layers / bottom of the prints):Top left cube of this golden PEI bed B09FPNPL1T (my favorite)Top right cube corrugated golden PEI bed B09P11F12Y (just nasty looking - gross!)Bottom left cube Creality flexible magnetic bed that came with my Ender 3 Pro B07GRSDKS9Bottom right cube Creality glass bed B07DTFG4W2 (My second favorite, almost perfect... But it imprints tiny pattern marks. VEEEEEEERY hard to remove the prints when done, even when it's completely cool).

Good for the price
I purchased this for my Ender 3 V2 with some upgrades. From the start, the textured side of the sheet worked phenomenally. I can’t say the same for the smooth side.I every single print on the smooth side fail due to a lack of adhesion, regardless of how much I lowered my Z offset. Also keep in mind that I’m running Klipper with auto bed leveling and I’ve got this machine dialed.I read more reviews and someone suggested washing the smooth side with the rough side of a dish sponge and some soap. After doing this and cleaning/roughing up the bed just a little bit, the prints have been adhering great and I have had no issues.

Great replacement for Ender 3 Pro Magnetic bed
I've tried multiple different beds for my Ender 3; this is the first one that seems to work very well. The stock Ender 3 bed was difficult to use due to needing bed clips, as well as just being a 'meh' bed surface. The Creatality glass bed was nice, but PETG seemed to have adhesion issues. The Ender 3 Pro magnetic bed was convenient, and prints adhered to the bed well, but the bed surface itself would warp on longer prints. This bed sticks right in place of the Ender 3 Pro magnetic bed, and seems to work very well. I use a bltouch with a 5x5 grid, and it was as easy as "remove magnetic bed, drop in PEI spring steel bed, run auto bed level, print". The prints stick well when the bed is hot (7 hour prints run perfectly), and then practically fall right off once it's cooled, making for very easy removal. No more struggling to get the skirt off; once the bed cools, it practically falls off when you turn the bed sideways.Due to being made of spring steel, this bed sticks down very well. That was the biggest problem with the Ender 3 Pro magnetic bed; the backing surface seemed to basically be a massive fridge magnet, and it lacked rigidity; thus the magnetic bed surface itself would warp on longer prints. The spring steel does not warp like the magnetic bed, staying flat, and makes sure that prints come out un-warped.This bed does come with the magnetic underlayment that you will have to install on printers that were not already equipped with a magnetic bed (such as the Ender 3 stock). If you already have a magnetic bed like the Ender 3 Pro, this bed surface seems to be a drop-in replacement.
