Projector Screen Paint Diamond with 1.6 Gain - HD 1080P,3D Capable and 4K Ready(Diamond - Quart)

I opted to buy a "damaged" can of this paint from Warehouse Deals, sold here on Amazon The damage, according to the description, means the can may be dented, but not used or otherwise compromised. What a disaster. After spending hours prepping, sanding, and taping the wall for this paint, I opened the can with the entire area ready to go. The paint had been mixed on a paint mixer at SW paint store for about ten minutes. I then used a drill mounted mixer for a last blend before applying to the wall. I had planned to use a roller, as other reviewers had success with rollers, After the first few rolls, I noticed deposits in the paint on the wall. They were very obvious as the wall had been sanded smooth for prep. I touched one of the specks thinking it was a bubble, and it was a sludge deposit of something black or grey. I am guessing it was the tint that should have been mixed into the paint. I went around the wall smashing all these chunks and it looked like someone had rubbed cigarette ashes all over the wall. I then got the drill mixer and stuck it all the way to the bottom of the can, scraped it around, and pulled it out, and it was covered in gooey sludge. Clearly all the mixing could not get this mixed correctly, but instead broke it up into chunks from about 1.5 inches to 1/8 of an inch. Had I not mixed this myself I would have wondered about that, but by the consistency of the goo it was clear this was an old can. To make matters worse, the handle broke and caused a spill (luckily the floor had two layers of plastic and tarp. So, the wall is 1/5th painted, then stopped, taped up, and the can is being returned. I should have noticed this wasnt sold by the actual Paint On Screen company!

For reference I’m using a Optoma 143 Full HD in a room with some ambient light. I’m not impressed at all with this product:The good:-it covers more than it says. I painted two good coats of a 16’ x 9’ wall and still have some left. I used their primer too.- the contrast improved about 15% compared to the primer-only wall.The bad:- the paint came clumped and it took me 1.5 hours to mix it in. A total pain in the neck. The smell is terrible and it had pieces of metal that were probably toxic. Ew!.- the smell in the room endured for over a week. With proper ventilation.- the perfofmance is.... meh. I bet that a $30 gallon of any other similary colored paint would produce the same contrast and gain. Really I still see burnt whites and extra saturation. Not much more gain during the day when some light comes in.I feel I really wasted my money here.

As pricey as this product is, I was pretty nervous about not messing up in the application of it. I bought a sprayer here. TackLife SGP15AC in case anyone is in the same boat I was in. I never used a sprayer and never have done a home theater screen. Probably just like most people who read this. This paint product is extremely forgiving in my opinion. There was one whole corner of the screen that I applied the paint way too thick. I was expecting to have to sand it a bit before my next coat as the paint was almost running. This was going to be the next morning. Very much to my surprise, all of it flattened out. All of it. Looked as if there was no mess up on my part. I was very pleased and impressed w the results. I still have at least 1 more coat Im going to apply but wanted to convey my experience up to this point now.

Simply amazing. This is like a miracle in a can. Everybody who looks at my 12 x 8' "movie screen" believes at first sight that I purchased an actual movie screen. It looks that good. You need to buy the framing tape separately , but when used together the effect is truly magnificent. I could not be happier with either the product or the sellers.

Although I have extensive experience with home projects, I found this to be difficult work. After much mixing, I found the material continued to be lumpy and full of debris. Be sure to strain it if you use, but I did not know if straining would affect the performance of the paint film. There is also a distinct odor which takes several weeks to fully dissipate. My wife was not happy about the odor. Be careful when applying this finish. Use a strainer. Good luck--

I used this product to paint screen size of 180 inches. I used the roller recommended. With some difficulty I was able to apply the paint (two quotes are must). Please follow the exact painting instructions, it is important. Quality is better than my original normal paint. Colors are more natural and it makes further difference on dark/night shots. Only reason three stars is difference in normal paint and this paint is not major. If you are looking for ultra-high quality then go for it. I have very high resolution/contrast, expensive projector and I like the best picture quality I can get. For me the money and effort this was worth spend.

I ordered a second gallon of this product by clicking to repeat the previous order when I ran out of the paint. When I received the second gallon and started painting, the color was not white like the original gallon I received, it was gray. I need another gallon of white so I can finish my projection wall. I had to use the gallon of the wrong color because I had to finish the wall for an event.

This product is terrible. We hired professional painters and followed the exact instructions. It came out blotchy / spot-y and uneven. Don’t recommended it.
