Thursday Boot Company Men's Scout Chukka Boot

After owning these pair of boots for 6 years, I can say I’m pretty happy with the quality and how they have held up. I own 3 pairs of Thursday boots and they all seem to be very well made. I think as long as you take care of the leather properly and make sure to condition it and maybe apply a shoe cream to protect the color it’ll actually wear very nice and look better with age. My only complaint with Thursday boots in general is that they don’t offer a whole lot of cushion and there isn’t much space in the shoe to add your own but even still it’s plenty comfortable for walking around in, just not for like hiking or all day kind of walking. I’ve been wearing these shoes as my daily work shoe since they look pretty good dressed up or dressed down. I’ve also worn them when traveling and exploring new cities, dancing around at weddings and parties or just going shopping and I don’t have many complaints as they are a very versatile pair of shoes. I’d recommend these to anyone looking for a solid quality boot that can pair with many outfits but I’d recommend looking at other shoes if you prefer more a rugged boot or need more cushion support in the heel and midsole.

classy yet understated... there are quality boots/shoes/shoeboots. Obviously they are dress boots and will get broken in regarding the fine conditioned leather. I found the laces too short and will be buying longer ones to suffice my needs. Them stating choosing a half a size smaller is dead on for myself anyway. These are quite lovely, highly recommended. Edit: second purchase for different/smaller size. My foot measures 10.7 inches and previously I'd ordered size 10 which I can wear but they are too big leaving almost and inch room at the toes. SO, I ordered 6.5 which would correspond to my foot measurement, way too small and almost couldn't pull them on, so I returned for size 8.5 and they fit perfectly. These are lovely boots, not too showy but classy and well made. This size leaves about a fingers width room for the toes.

My original purchase was for Thursday's Boot Company Scout Men's Chukka Boot in brown. I read online that you should order your regular size that they're the "Perfect Fit" so I ordered an 11. When they arrived they seemed clownishly big. The boots themselves looked great but when I tried them on they were way too big, the leather was very stiff and the tongue pressed very uncomfortably on the top of my foot/ankle, and the polish seemed to scuff by just tying the laces. I did not trust myself to get the brown pair in the correct size fearing they would scuff easily. So I returned them and ordered the Safari - Rugged & Resilient colorway in a size 10. I figured if the previous pair was so big I should order a size down. The new pair came in and they were true to size. I did not fit in the size 10. So then I ordered a 10.5 these were almost the perfect size but my toes felt a little squeezed in the toe box . Final pair. I reordered the size 11's and again they were true to size, a perfect fit. Nothing felt cramped or confined, no pressure from the tongue or on my ankles. It has a classic style and fit and seem to constructed well. I love the distressed look and the leather smells great. I will take pictures of the shoes in their natural condition and how they'll look with a leather wax to protect them from the elements. I could only guess that the 1st pair in brown sent to me must have been the wrong size or a freak pair that was just too big. I'm glad I took the time to go through 4 pairs because these shoes are truly comfortable and will be enjoyed for years to come.

The best quality "Chukka" boots I have ever owned. With decent quality cleaning products they clean up very well and last (so far 2 years) a long time.

Unbelievable quality for the price. The interior of the shoe is soft leather, the sole is much more durable and reliable than the crepe sole found on Clarks desert boots. These boots can be worn with a suit or with jeans. The sizing is very accurate, I do not recommend ordering a size down as some people have mentioned. I wear a size twelve in Clarks, Nike, New Balance etc...I ordered size twelve in these boots and they fit perfectly. I recommend getting some leather conditioning wax or oil for proper maintenance. I expect to have these boots for a long time, if they fail to live up to that expectation I'll update this review, but in the meantime, I'm stunned by the awesomeness of the scout boot. Pictures cannot describe how good these look and feel when you open the box. Update, customer service is incredible at Thursday Boot co. I had a small defect on the toe of the boot, I didn’t notice it until the third time wearing them, I contacted Thursday Boots and they shipped new ones out immediately!!!!! I’m sold! UPDATE: These boots have separated from the rubber sole at the toe, after only two months of wear. They began separating after a couple days, and Thursday boot sent me a replacement pair, no questions asked, excellent customer service. The replacement pair had the same issue!!! The third replacement pair also has the same issue. I wish the durability was more substantial on these boots, because they’re extremely comfortable, they look like they’re 3 times the actual price, and the company has provided the best customer service I’ve had in a long time. I haven’t heard any issues regarding the president, or the captain. Maybe the issue is only affecting the scout. UPDATE: one year review...I’ve been wearing these for a year now, and the toe issue has proven to be not an an issue at all. These have stood the test of time, I’ve worn them to work (I walk outside all day) all year, they’re still in perfect condition!

Built well and look great. I would buy these again in a heartbeat.

I wasn't so sure about the limited material/colour options available here on Amazon, but given the absolute ball-ache that would've been ordering from Thursday in the US without knowing my size and risking their returns process which would've turned out very expensive if they were the wrong size, I conceded to get the cognac suede (really I wanted mocca, but none in stock). I have to say, I'm massively impressed and pleased with my purchase, and actually with the shade of brown the cognac come in. Very well made and they feel "special" in a decent-quality sort of way. Though Thursday's recommendations for sizing are specified, I just bought my usual boot size and they fit brilliantly. Now I want more of their range! Well worth the price.

These boots are great. Well made, not perfect. Look great. I wear US 11.5 (2E) in runners and purchased US 11. Size is perfect. Comfortable out of the box. I think a lot of the critics of Thursday Boots are shoe snobs. I don’t want to spend $1000 on boots. Best not to compare these boots to those boots. That being said Thursdays also look super cool compared to to snobby cousins! I’ll be buying more of this companies shoes.

I am really happy with my Thursday boots. They fit true to size and (once broken in) are very comfortable. Perfect for a smart casual look and are also water tight and durable which is very useful in the UK.
