Good quality, heavy duty, great value
Quality hinges that are very easy to install and work great. They come with an allen wrench to adjust the tension, which is very easy. I bought these to use with a 100 lb. wood gate that is 40" wide and 70" high. The only minor thing that I was concerned about was the supplied screws, which seem to be designed for a metal gate and post. After using them for a month, I purchased a second set.

Great Quality, Easy to instal
Great Quality, Easy to install - self aligning, Strong Spring for self closing. I contacted SafeTech to know what drill was suggested for pre-drilling. They replied overnight (WOW!) and said pre-drilling is NOT necessary but I could use 3.2mm (1/8"). I ended up NOT pre-drilling.

Love these hinges!
Love these hinges for my interior cat / baby gate! Easy install and great for holding my gate. I turned off the "auto close" feature and the hinges worked perfectly. Great value for the money and they look great too!

Works well, not too hard to install, has helped keep our dog from escaping.

185lb not accurate
Hinges are rated for 185lbs. I had a gate 120lbs and it worked fine but the bottoms hinge was compressed and the upper hinge expanded so it hung out of level. I returned product and they kept $14 even though the product did not hold the 185lbs without sagging. Not happy they did not stand behind the product

the quality of the materials, the provided hardware to install them and the assortment of plugs to seal the top adjustment hole, is all of very good quality and thoughtful from the manufacturer SafeTech. We like their principle of operation. A word on the provided screws: this item is recommended to be installed on metal or vinyl posts and gate frame. Still, my husband used longer deck screws and installed them obliquely on our wooden 4x4 (dimensionnaly 3.5x3.5in.)post and was also careful in the torque applied so as not to harm the hinges because it is more advised to use pan headed screws than flat headed deck screw. I'm giving all these details to help persons who would consider this item.

Surprisingly solid and easy to install. Will they last cold winters is a guess…. The 16 white screws were banged up and I had the repaint them white is the biggest issue…
